OKC may have some serious (understatement) injuries right now, but they also have some serious young players who are ready to contribute. Ajay Mitchell? Aday Mara? Jared McCain? They're still going to have a great season. Note: Mara is going to be really, really good one day.

Damian Lillard (6), Ja Morant (8), and Deni Avdija (4) combined for 18 assists in the Portland Trail Blazers' season opener. None of them played more than 24 minutes. Questions of long-term fit will be answered in time, but this could end up being a really fun offense.

Excited to report that @joesimonssays, @GMottaTV and I will be working together on The Rip City Wrap up after most @trailblazers games this season on KUNP/@KATUNews. Sometimes it will be all three of us -- such as after the opener versus the Suns -- sometimes just two of us. Either way, tap in after the post-game show with @brookeolzendam!

Casey and Joe and Guillermo are going to be awesome together - excited to take a step back and watch these guys this season! Newly married, launching a business with my wife and some other stuff in the works that I’ll share in the near future - it was time for me to take a step back from TV. Wish these guys nothing but the best and y’all should definitely tune in and support the crew.

The Portland Trail Blazers were 28th in 3P% last season and Deni Avdija was still one of the most effective drivers in the league. I wonder how he'll do with one of the greatest shooters in basketball history spacing the floor this year 🤔

Travis Demers is taking over the Trail Blazers TV broadcast after all the offseason drama: oregonlive.com/blazers/2026/…

Ja Morant today... Good: Passing looks solid and he has had some success disrupting passing lanes on D. Bad: Drives have been sloppy and ineffective, and he looks hesitant beyond the arc. It may take time for Ja to be a high-level scorer again. We'll see if/when he gets there.

Not a lot to learn from this game so far, but it's clear that Ja Morant needs the reps. Scoot Henderson, on the other hand, has looked fantastic and I am more excited than ever to watch him hoop this season.

True story. We were setting up a Tissot interview shoot for their internal meetings and Dame asked Tissot to hire his guys that had just got let go. No one suggested it to him. Just who he is.

Casey Holdahl was recently on a podcast and shared a story about how Damian Lillard made it a point to help him and another former Blazers staffer find work shortly after they were let go by the team. W Dame ✊🔥 (Via: Wakeupripcity/YouTube)

There is so much to like about what the Blazers could be this season. Even in last night's pre-season lineup: G - Lillard (9x All-Star, 36) G - Morant (2x All-Star, 27) F - Camara (1x All-Defense 2nd team, 26) F - Avdija (1x All-Star, 25) C - Clingan (All-Rookie 2nd team, 22)

we should do a “HE WAS A PROBLEM 😤” challenge where a super random player is picked and the video edit has to make them look good

Braiden Bell — the play-by-play announcer the Portland Trail Blazers hired and fired on the same day after being notified of derogatory tweets he posted as a team — has hired counsel and is asking for reinstatement.

An Open Letter to Adam Silver: Portland Did Its Part. Now Help Fix Dundon’s Mess.

Had the iHeart not picked up the tab to have an actual PbP voice, the plan was to simulcast the TV broadcast.

Really curious what the Blazers would've done if iHeart didn't pick up the tab... probably hired someone off the street without conducting a background check.

Let's not forget that Lamar Hurd was 32 when the Trail Blazers hired him 10 years ago, and he is one of the most informative, entertaining announcers in the NBA. Braiden Bell (29) could very well be an incredible addition to the broadcast team.

Honestly, I'm excited about the Braiden Bell hire. He's relatively green, sure, but he's been killing it in Phoenix for years, and sometimes it's fun to watch someone grow and endear themselves to the fans. Although it does feel strange to be older than him, I admit.
