Every once in a while, we’re going to hand GM @DavidMKerr a camera and let him tell you what’s going on around here. What we’re working on. What’s coming. What he’s thinking about. Consider this the first Message from the GM. Have something you want him to answer next time? Put it in the comments. There’s a pretty good chance it ends up in one of these.

From building it to leading it. Watch this morning’s press conference as the Mississippi Mud Monsters officially introduce David Kerr as General Manager. Hear from Kerr on the opportunity ahead, what Trustmark Park can become, and what it means to lead a team with Mississippi on the front of its name. And a big thank you to Brown Bottling for providing beverages for this morning’s event, and to the Pearl Chamber of Commerce for providing the podium and sound system. It takes a village. We’re pretty lucky to have ours.

BIG NEWS FROM THE SWAMP. Introducing MonstersStore.com - the official online team shop of the Mississippi Mud Monsters. This isn’t just a store. It’s the official supply shop of Mud Monsters weird. Hats, jerseys, shirts, and the kind of gear that makes people stop you in the grocery store and ask, “What in the world is a Mud Monster?” We’ve added new items, new brands, and we’ve completely upgraded the online shopping experience with professional product photos so you can actually see the detail and quality of every item before it shows up at your door. And we’re just getting started. A LOT more new gear is on the way before Opening Day on May 7. The swamp is expanding. Read the full story here: mudmonstersbaseball.com/team…

🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM OTTAWA 🚨 The Frontier League held its annual meetings this week… but judging by the photos, the Mississippi Mud Monsters may have accidentally gone full kaiju. Since we didn’t snap any pictures of our own, we borrowed a few from other teams’ public posts (and maybe a “news outlet” or two). The results? Terrifying. Andrew Seymour casually peeking through windows like a friendly-but-giant office Godzilla. David Kerr blocking out the sun over the Welcome/Bienvenue sign. A downtown sighting near Parliament Hill that shook the very foundations of Canada. Multiple LinkedIn reports confirming: the Monsters are on the loose. Truth is, the only things we actually destroyed were the buffet line and a couple of nametags. But the meetings themselves were monster-sized in the best way — full of collaboration, insight, and real tools to help us keep building in Mississippi. Huge thanks to Steve Tahsler, Matt Shepardson, and Sarah George for pulling this all together. And to our brave hosts, the Ottawa Titans Baseball Club: thanks for welcoming us into your city and not calling animal control when the Mud Monsters came stomping through. 🐟 Mississippi Mud Monsters: Bigger in Canada.

Dear Mr. @RicFlairNatrBoy, First and foremost, please accept my sincerest apologies and my deepest regrets for accidentally calling you Hulk Hogan on the internet. It wasn’t meant to offend. Just a classic case of middle-aged manager posts before fact-checking. The kind of mistake that happens when you’re running on Pepsi Zero Sugar, concession stand nachos, and the adrenaline of a half-baked idea you were too excited to double-check. In my defense, I was accompanied by our 23-year-old marketing manager who once famously asked if you were the one who yells WOOOO. So… yeah. That’s the headspace we were working with. The truth is, we were genuinely thrilled to meet you. You’re a legend. A style icon. The limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheelin dealin son of a gun. And instead of giving you the reverence you’ve earned, we handed the internet a folding chair and asked it to hit us over the head with it. And while we may have confused you with Hulk Hogan, we’ve got nothing but respect for the man. From Hulk Boulder to Hollywood Hogan. Mr. America to The Super Destroyer. Sterling Golden. Hulk Machine. Ichiban in Japan. Even that very dramatic Terry Bollea run in WCW 2000. The man was a one-man multiverse. His presence shaped generations of fans, including ours. We meant no disrespect. Only admiration. Misguided, sure, but genuine. If you find yourself back in Pearl, Mississippi, we’d love to make it right. First pitch. Custom robe. Ric Flair Night. Whatever it takes. And hey, hope you’ll consider joining us for Identity Crisis Night on August 16. Feels like your kind of party. WOOOO-regretfully yours, David Kerr Assistant General Manager Mississippi Mud Monsters Trying to do better. Still very much confused by wrestling canon.
