Dropped by @artechouse in Houston, TX this weekend for the premiere of Fractal Worlds — a fractal-based film I had the pleasure of collaborating on with the incredible (and dear friend!) @JuliusHorsthuis It was my first time experiencing one of my works live at Artechouse, and man… “immersive” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Being surrounded by those ultra–high-res screens and enveloped in their L-Acoustics L-ISA Hyperreal Sound system - 31 audio channels (!!!) precisely choreographed for a full 360° experience - was absolutely mind-blowing. 🤓 If you’re in the area, definitely check it out - it’s truly something special.

Boss Combat Cue - Isolated Instruments vs. Full Mix Here are some of the key instruments in this boss/combat track for Brew (releases in 2025). Check out what they sound like isolated (with minimal processing) vs in the final mix! Instruments (and specifics) in order of appearance: -Djembe [tuned super high] -Cello [mono and up-close] + lots of overdubs! -Talharpa [with some reverb+delay] -Electric Cello [DI] + lots of overdubs! -“Mother” [an instrument I built specifically for this project] -Floor toms [16’’+18’’ Yamaha Stage Custom] Aside from those instruments there are lots of other string (Orchestral Tool stuff) and drum layers (Damage 2) in the mix that are sample based to beef things up and help make the cue sound bigger.
