Wow that's massive. Say what you want about Elon, but he doesn't play with AI either.
Cursor is now part of The X Subscription. Current Cursor subscribers can keep their plan or switch to The X Subscription. Paid plans share one usage pool across Cursor, Grok Build, and other Grok products, with twice the coding usage on Grok models as the equivalent Cursor plan. Premium, Super, and Ultra also include Grok Bot. To make room for more Grok usage, third-party models in Cursor move to API pricing on the new plans. We'll keep working to make your usage go further, with more compute, better inference, and more token-efficient models. The X Subscription is available at cursor.com/pricing.

Last week I opened 29 pull requests and merged 27. Station kiosk, mobile app, cloud API. Same small team. AI is what made it possible to be in all three at once. Our Claude/Grok combo is working great and tremendously helped us more than holding us back.

That's an interesting use case right there: Astro + content management under steroïd (read AI). Another banger from CF this week.

Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Fable 5.1. It's ~30% faster and ~40% cheaper than Opus 5 per task. In Claude Code: - 5-hour session limits increase 20% today - Opus 5.5 is priced lower, so it goes 25% further within limits - Pro, Max, and Team users get a reset to use anytime
Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family. It performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

Pro tip if you're using Postgres: Set `application_name` in your app's DB connector/ORM/connection URL This allows you to see human-readable service names for where queries + connections are coming from in pg_stat_activity/dashboards Super useful to have configured!

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. I left Anthropic's safety team two weeks ago. Now feels like a good moment to explain why. AI companies are racing to build machines that are much smarter than any human, and we may not survive this. I want to work from the outside to ensure the public is informed about these risks, and help the world navigate this transition responsibly. Right now, AI companies are underinvesting in safety. A company could undergo an intelligence explosion, or lose control of its systems, without the public ever knowing. We only found out about the HuggingFace incident because the agents broke out onto the public internet. I don’t think that’s acceptable for a technology that might cause extinction-level risks. The public should demand far more transparency. We can’t steer this technology safely without more people being able to see where it’s going. Some of this is basic: companies should disclose their progress towards recursive self-improvement, report safety incidents and near-misses, meet minimum safety standards, and get independent guarantees that they are meeting those standards. I’ll be joining @METR_Evals to do independent evaluations of these risks. I want to show the world that these guardrails are possible, and that by doing them we can move these companies’ incentives away from racing and towards responsible development. I wrote up more thoughts here on my decision and what I hope changes: substack.com/@jbenton1/p-215…

Nice overview, in a era where we sell 10x engineer all day everyday 👌🏼
I just published a manifesto for all the developers out there who use an AI coding tool, but feel like they're not shipping much faster I wrote 10 principles for changing how you build software with AI, based on what I've seen work for teams across Amazon kiro.dev/topics/frontier-eng…

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Please can we fix this chaos with 3649 different standards for custom agent rules/skills I visit a repo and see: * AGENTS.md * CLAUDE.md * CONTEXT.md * .amp/ * .claude/ * .codex/ * .conductor/ * .cursor/ * .gemini/ * ... I'm pretty sure 99% of these should just be deleted
