Federal Reserve cut the Fed Funds rate. However mortgage rates won't change immediately. Longer term rates will go down through at least the first half of 2020.

Today the House passed S. 2155 by a vote of 258-159. This legislation is unchanged from that what passed the Senate. Now headed to the President’s desk for signature. Needed to happen and has key provisions. Including SAFE Act amendments, TILA/PACE protections, TRID & HMDA relief

With the recent changes in the tax laws the 2106 form is officially retired. Good news for borrowers qualifying for mortgage loans who have 25% or greater commissions, and with the doubled standard deduction this still means tax cuts for those borrowers.
New Year news! LIBOR replacement chosen!! Alternative Reference Rates Committee (ARRC) has chosen the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) as an alternative to LIBOR. You'll see SOFR mid 2018. SOFR won't be the same as the LIBOR. The index plus margin probably won't be exact.

The ban on PACE loans goes into effect on FHA loans in 20 days. Fannie and Freddie have had these restrictions in place. So now, no loans from the GSE's and now FHA.
