I wrote a post for the @H2O_Programming blog on how to build interactive visualizations with Panel 📊
It includes a code tutorial looking at some climate data and then I highlight a more advanced dashboard we built to accompany a recent paper

I'm so excited to share our latest paper which is open access in @EarthsFutureEiC! In this study, we investigate the role of natural variability and climate change in driving flood and drought variability in the San Joaquin Valley of CA. 🧵

The second paper of my PhD has been published in @Nature_NPJ Climate & Atmospheric Science! ✨
We quantify the uncertainty associated with downscaling & bias-correcting CMIP6 climate models. This uncertainty is important in many circumstances!

Our main takeaways?
Downscaling & bias-correction are relatively large sources of uncertainty:
🕓 over the near-term
🥵 in projections of temperature extremes
🌧️ in projections of precipitation
🗻 in regions of complex terrain and/or observational disagreement
Having presented and co-chaired MSCAR in previous years, I highly recommend it for all undergrad and grad students in the atmospheric sciences and related fields!
A great opportunity to present your research before AGU/AMS, and the organizers have gone above and beyond this year
Hi everybody! Here's an overview of #MSCAR2023. It will be hybrid and include a DOW facility tour, an early careers panel, and more! Abstracts are due on Sept. 8. Please keep in mind that you will also need to register in order to present! The link is atmos.illinois.edu/mscar
Thanks to the @multi_sector facilitation team for highlighting my research in their latest newsletter!
We just published our May newsletter! Click below to learn more about the application process for our upcoming MSD workshop on Oct 3-5 at UC Davis. Applications are due June 2nd! We also highlight the work of PCHES researcher @DavidCLafferty !

First oral session today on uncertainty and extreme weather. Join @Erwan_Monier, @jr_lamontagne, @dee_rastogi, @GalelliStefano, @riddhi_WaterLab, @oneill_bc, @DavidCLafferty, @Weather_West and the rest of our presenters in room S504abc, starting in 30 minutes!
Looking forward to giving my first in-person talk in a longgg time at #AGU22 on Tuesday, on the role of downscaling and bias-correction in projections of local climate extremes.
Please stop by and ask lots of questions if this interests you!
Thanks to @AndrewHamiltonL and the @multi_sector facilitation team for choosing to highlight our paper from last year!
Downscaled and bias-corrected climate projections are often used to drive #MultiSectorDynamics models, but what are potential consequences of this approach? @DavidCLafferty et al. explore this question in their 2021 @CommsEarth paper: nature.com/articles/s43247-0…
A nice thread highlighting some important points from our recent review paper on uncertainty analysis in multi-sector systems!

🚨 New paper alert! 🚨
Delighted to have this review paper published in @EarthsFutureEiC which was a joint effort by the @multi_sector working group on uncertainty characterization & quantification:

SAVE THE DATE and help us spread the word!
MSACR 2022 @MSCAR_Illinois will be happening this year on October 1-2. More details on the format and deadlines of the conference will be posted soon so STAY TUNED!
#AGU21 attendees check out my talk on climate/agriculture/decision-making!
The live session is on Monday at 9.45am (GC12B) and I'd love to discuss more then or offline at any time!
