I was disappointed by what happened last night but at least it's clear that the recent rise in postmillennialism is misguided. 😂
It was a privilege to serve on the search team in finding a new state exec for @KNCSB. I'm excited to be able to partner with John Shields in the future. And best wishes to David Manner on his upcoming retirement.

The plagiarism in preaching topic is blowing up here on X. My take: it's wrong to completely steal someone's outline or wholesale sermon without attribution as well as verbatim quotations & personal illustrations (unless you adapt the illus. to make it your own). On the matter of summarizing exegetical insights from commentaries, no one wants to hear constant reference material as #1) Most people wouldn't recognize the commentator nor do they really care about A. T. Robertson and his thoughts about the optative mood in Koine Greek and #2) Most commentaries regurgitate the same info. Hence, nothing new under the sun. On summaries, I usually say, "Bible scholars have noted..." or "I heard one preacher..." or "I once read...." An auditory sermon is not a book report. Plus, most preachers have listened and learned from their preaching heroes to the extent that some concepts, expressions, and illustrations are internalized (think, "I milk a lot of cows but turn my own butter"). I don't even know to whom to attribute some of these expressions to (Ex/"Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay").

At the SBCAM, a man came up to introduce himself.
It was @evanlenow, the new President of the @ERLC!
I didn't recognize him and he could've avoided me as one who's called for the end of the ERLC. But he chose to initiate a conversation. That speaks volumes about his character!
I was encouraged by the conversation and have good hope that the ERLC will gain our trust under Evan's leadership.
Just had to share this awesome video. I had the very unique opportunity to baptize a man just a few months shy of his 97th birthday at @ibcwichita today.

In 2021 I was headed to the SBC. Stopped at @bellevuememphis & Steve Gaines, who I'd never met before, asked me to sit w/ him & pray for him before he preached. I asked to buy his meal after church. Instead, he bought mine & gave me 2 hours of his time. A humble & gracious man!
