MSG has spent thousands against me for saying this, but I won’t back down. Commercial facial recognition is creepy and dangerous. It needs to be banned.

🚨 My op-ed is out in @CityAndStateNY: “Excited delirium” is racist pseudoscience that’s been used to justify countless deaths at the hands of law enforcement. NY must ban it.
The bill passed the Senate & is awaiting a debate in the Assembly. ¡Pa’lante!

Thank you @LastWeekTonight and @iamjohnoliver for shining a light on the racist pseudoscience term "Excited Delirium". @votejgr and I have a bill S1714/A697 to ban it as a cause of death. Other states have passed similar bills, NY should too.

Some really good people work really hard to make good policy in NY and also the way Albany does it at 3am after blowing artificial deadlines to cram it all together in a "budget" that the Governor largely controls should be abolished and rebuilt from the ground up.
“I enjoyed the work, but I never got to see my kids. So I had to leave.”
Low pay and poor conditions are hollowing out the staff of the NY Assembly. This is bad news for people who care about our laws actually working.

When hospitals close, medically-underserved people are the hardest hit. Yet, no health equity impact assessment is required for hospital closings in NY. Tell @GovKathyHochul to fix this! Join the petition urging her to sign this bill: actionnetwork.org/petitions/…

A9414/S9039 would ban the use of the term “excited delirium” as a diagnosis, label, or cause of death. It’s a debunked medical syndrome used to justify the murders of Black + Brown people by police.

$15 was too low! But that’s not what she’s saying. She’s discarding thousands of pages of analysis to go on vibes. Unserious.
Hochul was on CNBC this morning. On whether congestion pricing will come back after the November elections:
"I will say right now: $15 is not the right price. That does not mean it's gone forever, but let's just be reasonable."
