People are saying Visa and Google. That’s not quite what happened.
Pi Network’s announced a new partnership. Some people are saying Visa and Google, but that’s not quite what happened.
Pi has partnered with a company called Open Standard. Open Standard is behind a brand new stablecoin called OUSD, which just launched with some genuinely massive backing, Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Coinbase. So OUSD itself is a serious, legit stablecoin.
Here’s the important bit. Those big names, Visa, Google, Stripe, they’re Open Standard’s partners. Not Pi’s. $PI partnered with Open Standard. Open Standard separately works with those giants. So saying “Pi partnered with Visa” isn’t right.
Even the Pi side of it is early. Pi’s said it’ll explore rewards and utility using the stablecoin. Explore. So it’s a promising early step, not a done deal.
