If you’re a dev who loves building for hackathons to earn cool cash, this is for you.
I built HackOdds.
It’s an aggregator that pulls live hackathons from Devpost, DoraHacks, Devfolio, Hackquest, Hacklist and more, then ranks them by the number that actually matters:
prize ÷ people already registered.
Not “who has the fattest prize pool.”
Who has fat prize money and a quiet room.
Because a $200k hackathon with 4,000 signups and a $15k one with 40 people are not the same bet. Every other board hides that.
How it works:
- fetches events from 6 feeds every day
- merges duplicates so the same hackathon doesn’t show up 3 times
- divides prize by (registrations + 1) : the +1 is you
- tags rooms good / mid / crowded
- if a site doesn’t publish crowd size, it says “not reported.” Never fake 0. Fake 0 would make every unknown event look empty and jump to #1
You also get:
- what’s closing soon
- new listings from the last 48 hours
- crowd velocity once there are real snapshots
- GitHub login for a watchlist + a “for you” rank based on languages in your public repos
~162 live events on the board right now.
If you pick hackathons by the poster, you enter the loudest room.
If you pick them by prize per rival, you see the quiet money.

Good post from @btrust_builders on AI and open-source contributions. I’ve been making PRs to Bitcoin open-source projects, and the distinction they draw is practical: using AI as a tool is fine, but you still need to know what the change does, verify the behaviour, and be ready to discuss it during review. Writing every line yourself isn’t required but standing behind the work is. Especially relevant if you’re using AI while learning to contribute.
It’s not an entitlement… ❕
So someone won $5k from a hackathon he stumbled upon on my page 3 months ago.
In excitement, he entered my DM.
“Thank you boss, I won $5k from a hackathon on your page. Keep up the good work.”
And that was it from him.
He came back today asking me to help him repost his content that he’s participating in a contest.
I first shake my head.

Thank you for choosing us and trusting us with your transactions. We appreciate every single one of you for using Settu.
Before the deadline, my team and I built and submitted Cliprail to make creator payouts measurable, programmable, and verifiable.
Brands create campaigns and lock their budget in a Monad escrow. Creators choose a campaign, receive a unique claim code, publish a public YouTube Short, and register it without paying gas. The claim code links the Short to the creator and campaign.
From there, Chainlink CRE reads the Short data and produces verification reports. The system checks the video is public, was posted after the campaign began, contains the correct claim code, and satisfies the campaign's view and anti-fraud rules. It can also enforce limits such as view caps, velocity checks, like-ratio requirements, and campaign budget constraints.
The important part is that the web app does not decide who gets paid. CampaignVault applies the rules on-chain. When a verified report arrives, earnings are reserved. A hold period gives the brand time to flag suspicious activity. Valid earnings are then released from escrow to the creator, while rejected earnings return to the campaign budget.
We tested the full flow on @monad testnet: a Short reached 50 verified views and the creator received a $0.05 USDC payout recorded on-chain.

Yesterday was Demo Day for Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 with @the_buidl.
I built BitScan : a Bitcoin explorer with a few extras.
• Live chain tip, blocks & mempool
• Full block details + transaction flows
• Search by height, hash, txid, or address
• Mainnet + Testnet support
• AI mode (Groq-powered Bitcoin teacher) and a lot more features
Stack: Rust + Axum + Bitcoin Core RPC

Part of the journey is the end. ⚡
This Tuesday, Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 reaches its final milestone: Demo Day.
After weeks of intensive learning, hands on development, code reviews, and mentorship, participants will showcase the Bitcoin projects they’ve built and the skills they’ve developed throughout the program.
In partnership with @btrustteam, Rust for Bitcoin 2.0 bridges the gap between learning Rust and contributing to Bitcoin’s open source ecosystem, preparing developers to move beyond theory, engage with real codebases, and become active contributors to Bitcoin’s future.
Now, it’s time to put the work on display.
Real work start after the showcase.

Last week, just before the hackathon deadline, my team and I (@bahago_json, @pinzypatz, @__savyisaac) submitted Mirror, built for @arbitrum Open House Singapore, with @RobinhoodCrypto Chain as the core on-chain finance rail.
The problem we wanted to solve is simple:
Most AI trading agents ask users to trust screenshots.
A PnL screenshot can be edited.
A losing trade can be hidden.
A “track record” can be cherry-picked.
And copy trading often means giving an agent too much control over user funds.
Mirror takes the opposite approach.
It is an on-chain performance ledger + hard-capped copy-vault for AI trading agents.
Every agent fill is written to an append-only TrackRecord contract.
Users can inspect the full tape, including losing trades, and follow an agent through a CopyVault with limits they set themselves.
That means:
• every trade is verifiable on-chain
• every follow has a user-defined cap
• agents never get unlimited custody
• users can kill a follow anytime
• policy rejections are logged on-chain
• losing agents stay visible too
Instead of asking:
“Do I believe this screenshot?”
Mirror lets users ask:
“What does the on-chain tape say?”
Built during @arbitrum Open House Singapore, and designed for the @RobinhoodCrypto Chain ecosystem.

Winning my first hackathon proved to me that it’s not just about who has the best UI.
Your idea, technical depth, and the problem you're solving matter a lot.
ALWAYS READ WHAT THE HACK IS ALL ABOUT , DO A LOT OF RESEARCH so you don’t end up building what is not related to the hackathon !!!
My 2 cents 🥲

How do you tell the story of a technical ecosystem to people who aren’t already inside it?
In the latest episode of Btrust in Focus: Conversations with Builders, Paul Eke (@proofofpaul) sits with Sharon Murugi (@Murugi___) Communications Lead at Btrust, to talk about finding her way into Bitcoin, growing into a communications role within a developer-focused organisation, and the work of making complex ideas easier to understand.
They discuss how Btrust’s brand and communications have evolved, the thinking behind the different stories and campaigns the organisation puts out, and what it takes to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
Sharon also shares what she’s learning about building a more engaging Btrust presence and creating stories that help more people find their way into the ecosystem.
