🚨 FOR 20 YEARS, CLIMATE ACTIVISTS HAVE WARNED THAT THE PLANET WILL BE DESTROYED UNLESS WESTERNERS ABANDON FOSSIL FUELS, WHILE EVEN OUR COWS AND PETS ARE BLAMED. SO WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE OVER ANNUAL EMISSIONS COMPARABLE TO THOSE OF 870 MILLION COWS AND 1.7 BILLION GASOLINE CARS? Consider the emissions that receive no attention: 🇨🇳 CHINA China produces approximately 12 billion metric tons of fossil CO₂ annually, close to one-third of the global total. Its estimated annual methane emissions exceed 60 million tons, comparable to the yearly methane emissions of approximately 700–870 million cows. 🔥 GLOBAL LANDSCAPE FIRES In a severe year, landscape fires can release several billion tons of gross CO₂, comparable to the annual tailpipe emissions of approximately 1.7 billion gasoline cars. 💥 NORD STREAM The Nord Stream explosions released an estimated 465,000 metric tons of methane, comparable to the annual methane emissions of approximately 4–7 million cows. 🇺🇦 THE UKRAINE WAR One assessment estimated that the war’s first four years generated approximately 311 million tons of CO₂-equivalent through military operations, fires, infrastructure destruction, displaced populations, altered aviation routes and anticipated reconstruction. That is comparable to the annual emissions of approximately 68 million gasoline cars. 🇵🇸 GAZA Researchers estimate that warfare and projected reconstruction could produce hundreds of millions of tons of CO₂-equivalent, in addition to the catastrophic human cost. 🇮🇷 IRAN AND THE MIDDLE EAST Missiles, aircraft, warships, burning petroleum facilities, destroyed infrastructure and reconstruction generate enormous emissions, but no comprehensive and independently verified total is currently available. 🔥 PIPELINES, REFINERIES AND OIL DEPOTS Energy facilities have been attacked or destroyed across Russia and the Middle East, releasing CO₂, methane, black carbon and toxic pollutants. Replacement fuel must then be refined elsewhere and transported over longer distances. Yet military emissions remain incomplete, delayed or largely absent from the political conversation. Meanwhile, Western families are told to drive less, pay more for energy, replace their appliances, change their diets and even reconsider whether their cows and household pets are environmentally acceptable. China benefits enormously from this transformation. It dominates global production of solar panels, batteries and electric vehicles while Western climate mandates weaken domestic industries and transfer extraordinary amounts of money to Chinese manufacturers. There is no evidence presented here that China created or sponsored these wars or Western climate policies. But if it had invested in forces that simultaneously weakened Western industry, increased Western energy costs and expanded China’s market dominance, the return on that investment would have been extraordinary. And here is the hypocrisy that ordinary people can see: ✈️ PRIVATE JETS Private aviation produces at least 15.6 million metric tons of CO₂ annually, comparable to approximately 3.4 million gasoline cars. Some of the same wealthy and powerful voices telling ordinary people to give up their cars, cows, affordable energy and even their dogs, continue flying around the world aboard private jets. IF CLIMATE CHANGE IS TRULY AN EXISTENTIAL EMERGENCY, THE RULES MUST APPLY TO WAR, GOVERNMENTS, BILLIONAIRES AND CHINA NOT ONLY TO ORDINARY WESTERN FAMILIES.
