Last week I wrote a blog for the IWT website in which I accused Irish farm organisations of "lurching to the far right". I stand over that assessment, indeed seeing the performance in the JOC last week, the attacks on the integrity of the EPA, and Tim Cullinane telling RTE that..

Not sure who to believe between Fr Peter McVerry and Leo Varadkar.
On one side is a priest who has dedicated his whole life to helping homeless people. On the other is a man who has literally lied about the time of day.

Was glad to be among those calling out @EamonRyan at Trinity today. The GP's backing of the eviction ban yesterday, along with Ireland's rising emissions and neoliberal policies, made his talk of a "just transition" and "system change" particularly laughable.

In fairness, I think most taxpayers are happy paying for ministers to fly to distant countries for St Patrick's Day. It's paying for their return tickets that bothers people.

What better way to mark Bertie Ahern rejoining Fianna Fáil than to watch him being interviewed on Conflict Zone.

Pascal Donoghue, in his last budget, declined to increase social welfare payments in line with inflation. Thousands of disadvantaged people are further disadvantaged. The focus now on minor lapses in recording election donations, trivialises what matters.
