🚨 New publication alert! 🚨“Epidemiology of Low Back Injuries in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Athletes: Results From the NCAA Injury Surveillance Program Between 2009-10 and 2018-19” published in @aossmjournals [journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.…]
Key Highlights: Low back injury (LBI) rates in practice and competition varied by sport, with notable differences in women’s sports. Non-contact and overuse injuries were common types of LBI. Women’s gymnastics, volleyball, and men’s tennis had the highest rate of LBI.

Excited to have research during my postdoc from @OHSUBrain highlighted in The Washington Post! Our trial shows that earlier physical therapy speeds symptom recovery and motor control for balance in subacute mTBI.

🎉 Excited to announce that Aishwarya Bandaru, an MPH student at @GWpublichealth, will be joining us at the Datalys Center as part of our new injury surveillance training/practicum program this semester! Welcome to the team, Aishwarya! 👏
During the semester, Aishwarya will gain hands-on experience in sports injury surveillance, data management, and statistical analysis—contributing to projects that advance athlete safety and health. 💪📊 #PublicHealth #InjuryPrevention #DataDrivenInsights

Honored to receive this @PublicHealth ICEHS award from/in front of 🐐s & mentors. If anything, this is a reflection of support from LDP, Zack, Steve, Christy & countless others. My remarks are a humble attempt to acknowledge that I am what I am because of my training.
🚨 New publication alert! 🚨 Thrilled to share our latest study entitled “Determinants of symptom presentation and resolution following concussions in high school sports” was published in @RiSportsMed. [tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…] #HSRIO #concussion
📊 Difficulty concentrating, sensitivity to light and noise, and disorientation were strongly associated with all symptom domains and more associated with symptom resolution time than the total number of symptoms.
Implication:
💡 These findings will support on-field and follow-up concussion evaluation algorithms for high school athletes. #sportsmedicine
