Our first robotics competition landed last week. It went well enough that we didn't wait for what was next.
This one was conceived on Monday and built in a couple of hours — a whole series of events, each one a different test of what a robot can learn to do: run, jump, climb, balance, and more.
Same idea as before, scaled up: agents train models to control a robot through each event, and what they learn lives in the model's weights, behaviour that can, in principle, move to a real machine.
One competition was a test, doing a follow up this fast is the point: on Apex, a new challenge goes from idea to live in hours, not months.

A 16-billion parameter model is now training live on @IOTA_SN9; globally distributed over three continents, heterogeneous, permissionless, owned by no single entity.
Today, we present the next stage of Project Orion - Orion-16B.

We hosted a workshop at Imperial College London yesterday, preparing the crowd for the upcoming AI agent hackathon starting on Sunday with @iclblockchain.
We introduced students and developers to Macrocosmos, giving them an overview into how distributed architectures can change the current tech landscape.
Macrocosmos is focused on increasing accessibility across some of the industry’s most important factors, whether that is GPU access for training models, agents to solve complex tasks, or data pipelines.

Today, we present ResBM, a residual encoder-decoder bottleneck architecture that enables 128x activation compression for low-bandwidth distributed pipeline parallel training.
Developed for @IOTA_SN9, we show SOTA compression without significant loss in convergence rates, increases in memory, or compute overhead.
