ICYMI, CCSD began this school year with what is likely the highest number of classroom teachers it has ever had at the start of a school year.
Sept. 1 staff counts are now out and they are HIGHER than August.
CCSD currently has more licensed staff than they have ever had!!!
What an amazing turn around from just a couple years ago. 🤯

This is a huge success story!
CCSD is poised to start their best school year in years.
To CCSD and all our schools across Nevada, have a great school year!!!
#ProgessIsTheProof
10/?
Why is it harmful that people don't believe the improvement is real?
Our community made massive investments in education with an explicit intention to improve the educator workforce.
It WORKED!
But when our community does not believe it worked, we put at risk the very things that are working.
Progress is the Proof!
9/?
The public is also dubious after CCSD failed to correctly calculate budgets after massive increases in education spending (the CFO was fired & there is a new Supt now).
Now so much time has passed between the investment and the outcome the public can’t see how it’s possible things have improved.
8/?
We made huge investments in education and it WORKED!
Last year:
- Improved attrition rates
- Improved retention rates
- Improved student teacher ratios
- Increased teacher workforce
Prior CCSD leadership’s failure to recognize this has left the public dubious.
Additionally...
7/?
In 2023, Governor Lombardo signed the Legislature’s historic education funding bill that increased spending by 25%.
An explicit purpose of that spending was to improve the educator workforce.
So, what happened???
6/?
School hasn’t started yet, so we don’t know class sizes, but we can look at last year.
By the end of last year, CCSD had the BEST student teacher ratios they have ever had.
The avg class sizes experienced by students were lower than the state avg.
How did this happen???
