So much of cinema's power comes from believing that theres another human mind on the other side of the screen conversing with you. Someone who made hundereds small, big, deliberate, specific choices in every single frame.
The tragedy of AI art isn't even that it looks bad, it's that it forces you to become a skeptic. The moment you start wondering if a gesture, a certain pacing, a duration of pause was intentional or just a program hallucinating, calculating probabilities,...the immersion dies, the magic disappears.

So after your son broke his arm and you offered to get him a Lego set to make him feel better, you ended up getting him nothing because you couldn't be bothered to get someone to unlock the case? Bro it would've taken less time than that fucking essay of a tweet whining about it.
My son broke his arm today so I took him out for ice cream and said he could get a LEGO set and we could build it together.
We went to Walmart.
Every single LEGO set, even ones that were $7.99, were locked up behind glass.
We walked down another isle… same thing.
Every single week I have walked in here and more items are locked up behind glass and it takes FOREVER to have anyone help you open something and they make you feel awful for it.
It’s honestly barely worth shopping here at all…
I felt so bad for my kid. We ended up just leaving without a LEGO set.
Whatever we are doing with society that has brought us here… it’s gotta end.
This is insane and it’s destroying childhood.

Showed up with my Pokemon obsessed 4-year-old right when he woke up, still in pajamas, and they said he was too young for a ticket and refused to give him one. So much for a “family event” and this being about the kids 😒
Reminder about Target Event tomorrow 🎯
We are already seeing Target locations putting up signs for tomorrow's event from 12pm-4pm. One location is asking that people do not line up until after closing tonight. Yes you read that right, AFTER CLOSING TONIGHT 😭 looks like many are already anticipating it being crazy
Despite the event being advertised as a "family event", I have spoken to employees from multiple locations near us and they all are saying anyone can participate, and they will not be preventing the unwashed from joining and getting tickets to later just resell the cards and promos in the parking lots
Here's a breakdown of everything for tomorrow:
- Around 100 people per store will be given tickets on a first come first served basis
- Each ticket will allow the individual to get 2 per SKU of each 30th Celebration item in stock (varies by location, looks like all participating are getting ex tins, but some will get ETBs and Poster Collections) and 1 Mewtwo 30th Stamped promo card
- Ticket holders are also expected to get a small activity bag designed for the family portion of the event, including drawing your own Pokémon
