1/5 Darwinia has traditionally focused on cross-chain solutions but has recently become part of @ringecosystem broader chain abstraction narrative. Darwinia now specifically refers to the Darwinia chain, an EVM-compatible Polkadot parachain that can interoperate with other parachains through XCM.🧵⬇️

We’re preparing to retire Darwinia’s legacy account migration service on November 1, 2026. Before it closes, please take a moment to check whether you still have assets in any Darwinia 1.0 Substrate accounts, including multisig accounts. After the deadline, the on-chain account migration module will be removed, and any remaining RING or KTON—including RING associated with legacy deposits—will be permanently burned and cannot be recovered. RING LPs on Arbitrum: consider bringing your liquidity back to Ethereum mainnet.
With trading volume limited, splitting RING liquidity across Ethereum, Arbitrum and Polygon leaves each pool shallower. Bringing liquidity together in the mainnet Uniswap V2 RING/WETH pool can improve market depth, reduce slippage and ease bridging friction.
This is a voluntary community call, with no additional DAO spending.

The Darwinia Bridge is currently undergoing changes:
• Darwinia → TRON: no longer operational
• TRON → Darwinia: will remain operational for the next 3 months
If you hold tokens on TRON that you need to transfer to Darwinia, please complete the process within the next 3 months.
Important: The 3-month deadline does not apply to the Darwinia ↔️ Ethereum bridge, which remains available.
For Arbitrum, Polygon, and other networks, third-party bridge solutions are available.

Clarification on yesterday’s announcement: we are sunsetting only the Darwinia Names app. Darwinia Network and RingDAO remain active and continue building. Retiring this lightly used service lets us simplify maintenance and focus our efforts on the broader Ring ecosystem.

This proposal outlines a plan for RingDAO to discontinue support for the Crab testnet and its associated cross-chain bridge. The Crab Chain was initially launched as a test network for Darwinia, but with the Darwinia mainnet now stable, maintaining a separate testnet is no longer necessary. The proposal aims to end support for the Crab testnet due to reduced testing demand, high maintenance costs, and the need for financial optimization. The long-term fate of the Crab testnet will be determined by its governance module. If approved, all support for the Darwinia ⇄ Crab bridge will end one month after the proposal passes. Users should redeem their assets via the provided bridge link. The proposal also includes recommendations for the Crab governance module to sunset the Crab Chain and compensate holders through a snapshot + airdrop process.
