Mike Hazen on Torey Lovullo:
"He's not here because we have a relationship. This is a bottom-line business. Nobody cares about who knows who ... He's the manager of this baseball team because he's a good baseball manager. Period."

The Arizona Diamondbacks would love to have Michael Soroka back. He had multi-year offers from other teams but bet on himself with a one-year deal with the Diamondbacks. He was probably the Dbacks second best starting pitcher and finished the season healthy so he is in line for a multi-year deal at a much higher price than the $7.5 million he made this season. Arizona has a few holes to fill but starting pitching is a premium and although ERod, Pfaadt, Nelson, Kelly and Burnes are back the need for more starting pitching is great. It depends on the number but yes they would like him to return.

Per a source, Lovullo gets a two-year deal, which lines him up contractually with GM Mike Hazen.

And with that, The Diamondbacks will miss the MLB postseason. Phillies win on final day of regular season. Dbacks let a couple of late season games they probably should have won get away. It cost them.

Per @Dbacks mgr Torey Lovullo Gabriel Moreno left the game with a tender left hamstring. Expects him to be in lineup as DH tomorrow. Will call up a catcher to have another backup just in case. Jesus Sanchez designated for assignment to make room.

The #Dbacks are 412-395 (.510) under manager Torey Lovullo since the start of the 2022 season; 3 winning seasons, 1 playoff and 1 World Series appearance.
Lovullo's fate could be decided depending on what happens in the next 72 hours.
