Steam Next Fest is live, and Darkest Path is off to a pretty good start.
We’ve updated the demo a lot over the past week, but the biggest missing piece was the music. The game is meant to feel tense and unforgiving, and I think the main menu finally sets that tone properly.
If you haven’t tried the demo yet, now’s a good time.
For now, we’ll just leave you alone with the menu for a minute.

Day 1 demo report:
Found out the game still has way more bugs than I thought.
Fixed some of them in the first patch and somehow added even more.
A streamer played the demo and I found out I apparently made a hardcore Soulslike.
Going great so far.
We’ve spent the last two weeks pushing incredibly hard to get this Level 1 vertical slice ready in time. There were a lot of very late nights, very little sleep, and a lot of things we had to finish all at once.
There are still many things we want to add and improve, and we hope most of them will make it into the full release.
A few small things are still missing from the demo, especially some SFX and music, but we’re already working on them and they’ll be added before Steam Next Fest.
For now, we just hope you enjoy playing it.
