The first intervention study that compared the adaptations to push (PIMA) and hold (HIMA) is finally published.
Our results showed that PIMA led to greater strength improvement while HIMA led to slightly greater hypertrophy.

Results of our latest study showed that heavy dynamic strength has ⬆️ relation with fast dynamic strength but iso strength may have a ⬆️ relation with reactive strength. Compared to heavy dynamic strength iso RFD has weaker relation with fast dynamic and reactive strength.
The question now may be, why is there a need to perform isometric strength tests on top of a heavy dynamic strength test? Apart from being fast, safe and less fatiguing, isometric strength test requires less skill. Hence, the peak force obtained can be considered pure strength.
Results of our latest study showed that heavy dynamic strength has ⬆️ relation with fast dynamic strength but iso strength may have a ⬆️ relation with reactive strength. Compared to heavy dynamic strength iso RFD has weaker relation with fast dynamic and reactive strength.

This volume cheat sheet is from my @sportsmithhq course on "true" plyometrics
There's 4⃣ primary factors to establish plyo training volume:
- exercise intensity & training phase
- surface
- exercise variety
- athlete level
Here's how they influence plyo training volume

Results from our study showed that performing max iso co-contraction (3x5-10x3s) for the lower limb muscles in a seated position 3x/wk for 4 wks, lead to ⬆️IMTP peak force, 3m timed up and go and 30s chair stand performance in sedentary adults. @PaulComfort1975 @DustinOranchuk
