When people find out I actually wrote a love story… ❤️ Can love win, even here?

My time incarcerated has convinced me that the primary function of the Bureau of Prisons is the creation and management of redundancy. In the system, it seems like there's a department for everything but not a single person who can actually help you.
Some government employees are cool, most are apathetic, and some will intentionally grab your crotch when they search you. To be fair, most of these people aren't overtly malicious. They're just working jobs.
The problem is that they wield extraordinary power in small places.
I met an inmate serving 25 years because he was prosecuted under the Biden crime bill. In 2010, Congress passed the Fair Sentencing Act in response to longstanding concerns about the severity and disparity of federal crack-cocaine sentences. They failed to make it retroactive, however.
Unfortunately, he spent the next 15 years watching people come and go who sold 10 times more crack than him.
I don't really know what else to say about that.
The day after I was released from prison, my now-defunct probation officer called me to tell me that he wasn't certain I was pardoned. For a second, I almost believed him.
He asked for a copy of my pardon, and I directed him to WhiteHouse.gov. Somehow, that wasn't sufficient.
I still needed to provide one more document to prove that I was a free man.
These are the tentacles of bureaucracy.
As far as bureaucrats go, I would actually place this person in the "trying to be helpful" category.
That's how frustrating all of this is
I’ve been saying for a few days that more of this material would likely surface midweek.
This looks like a drip campaign, and I expect we’ll keep seeing pieces of it week by week.
Classified documents released this week show China had plans to use social media to stoke racial division in the United States around the 2020 election.
They were studying our tensions and looking for ways to make them worse.
We’re living in one of the most peaceful and prosperous times in history. Yet a lot of people seem constantly angry and on edge.
Is it possible we are being manipulated?
What does an officer assault look like in a January 6th case?
Me: put my hand up to stop a baton swinging at my face.
14 seconds later 10 steps away from me and with at least 10 officers in between officer trips falls and lands on their butt.
Charged with a 20 year felony
Imagine going to a protest.
Police steal your phone — the one with intimate photos of your ex-girlfriend.
They walk you into the Capitol.
Inside you beg for it back — asking 6 times, even with praying hands.
They tried to give you 37.5 years.
Just something to think about.

#WritingCommunity this is my book. I wrote it with a pen and paper in prison. Later I talked to texted it on my phone. Finally taking it all the way to a polished manuscript using Chat GPT while also preserving my words. At this point I'm a little stuck. I would love some advice.
When the woman who saved your life decides to leave… 💔
How would you react? 🤔

Unfortunately, prison heartbreak just hits differently. 💔
