A year ago on Tuesday I received the news that I had not been elected. Now I’m very happy to announce that alongside @McCrackersSYP we will be your MSYPs for Paisley! I am very excited to get to know everyone and what the upcoming year will bring 😊
I sadly did not get elected but I know that @teri4msyp and @McCrackers4SYP are amazing people and I'm glad you entrusted them to represent you guys!

It is really disappointing to hear the announcement that around 20% of Dundee University’s staff will be losing their jobs.
This will have a huge impact on the staff affected, as well as the student experience going forward. scotsman.com/education/more-…

I recently wrote an article for @youngwomenscot sharing my thoughts & experience of Imposter Syndrome within the workplace.
If you have a spare 5 minutes, I’d strongly urge you to give it a read. 😊

It was great to speak with MSYPs from across the country about my Youth Work Bill.
This bill will create real change for young people, with their voices and youth workers shaping its journey.
Together, we can ensure youth work gets the recognition and support it deserves.

"Violence is more of a symptom of the issue rather than the issue at stake. I don't think it's a coincidence that it's potentially increased given that there's been youth work cuts."

What a bright group of leaders🌟
@OfficialSYP's working group, The Movement, discussed how Scotland’s role in empire, #BAMEhistory, and #antiracism should be taught.
Thanks for the engaging discussion! Looking forward to seeing the future's changes.

ALT ‘As you all know by now this year is our 25th anniversary and wow, what an SYPerfect year it has been! Above all else my favourite part of the year has been getting the Membership together at our Sittings. We met at SYP81 in Stirling where we elected our new board. Last month, we had a wonderful time taking over the Scottish Parliament at SYP82 and celebrated in style at our Parliamentary Reception. What has made this year so wonderful has been giving our Members an opportunity to speak now about the issues that matter to them to make their communities better for young people. I want to say a massive thank you to all of our partners, stakeholders, support workers and SYP staff for everything you have done to make what we have achieved in 2024 possible. Everyone at SYP wishes you all a festive season where you shake it off and have a well-deserved break! Here’s to an amazing 2025, where young people continue to be fearless in creating change.... are you ready for it?’
