For this semester, I'm reviving my practice of posting on my blog discussions of the papers that are presented at the NYU Tax Policy Colloquium. This week's paper was by Daniel Hemel and Adam Kern. danshaviro.blogspot.com/2026…
Lord Binface, who is running against Nigel Farage in the UK, has 2 important tax planks in his 20-part program:
"2. I will cut your taxes, and raise everyone else's." ....
"11. A windfall tax on cozy crime novels written (or 'written') by celebrities."
Congratulations to Bill Gale on his extremely well-deserved receipt of the National Tax Association's 2026 Daniel Holland Medal.

It goes without saying that Alan will be enormously missed, both for his very many contributions and for his delightful personal presence.
