Today we remember Reese and Julianna and all the victims affected 8 years ago. What happened to our families and community is still present in our thoughts. We continue to advocate for better outcomes where gun violence is concerned. Recent events remind us there is more to do.
Thank you for the kind wishes on this challenging day. We also recall, with gratitude, the support we received from the TPS and other first responders.

The Public Safety Minister chose to act before any injunction request was filed. This further delays the removal of assault-style firearms. This is an unacceptable delay to a public safety measure Canadians expected.

Glad to see this correction was made by @BBCWorld.
Due to the #GunLobby's & #GunTrolls' inability to understand the concept of implied meaning or, more likely, its bad-faith insistence on overly literal misreading that totally ignores context (in order to mislead & fearmonger regular gun owners), @BBCWorld has specified that its initial passage referred to #AssaultWeapons, not ALL rifles, as any reasonable person who follows this file would know.

In my latest Op-ed in the Globe & Mail I note that the reluctance of Canadian police to release info about the guns used in mass shooting is, historically-speaking, new. "Canadians deserve to know what guns were used in the Tumbler Ridge mass shooting.
