When the personal attacks and name calling comes as a flood, you know that change is imminent in the insurance industry!
An industry and distribution system that has ripped people off for decades.

I assure you, we have all been harassed and assaulted. Every woman I know. The only reason I am not a headline is sheer luck and privilege. And for most of us it’s not a matter of if but when.

Remember what happened to him when he did it with CBSE?
THAT’S the difference between a country that attracts talent and one that ostracizes talent. Shithole for a reason.

Interesting day to get a notice the entire family seems to have failed SIR!
Also the local official says that Passport plus PAN plus Adhaar is still not sufficient to prove that we can vote. He says other documents will be required - such as school leaving certificates!
Is this common? I’m not sure how most people will get through this process.

Drove over both WEH and EEH today. Calling them "highways" is the biggest joke in Mumbai.
Surprise deep potholes, non-existent lane markings, zero reflectors, and a surface that feels like off-roading.
How is a megapolis paying this much tax and getting road conditions this pathetic?

The footpath near my society at Koramangala has been broken since years!
I complained to BBMP, sent email to GBA, raised ticket and chatted with their WA helpline but got no response.
Finally, decided to fix it myself.
It costed me Rs. 2700 including labor charges and the cement to build a ramp.
Parents with stroller and senior citizens on wheelchair can use it conveniently now.

If crimes could be ranked, this is among the worst possible. How coldly calculative and cruel one must be to do this? This is not a crime of passion or rage or whipped up hatred or even entrenched patriarchy. This is purely a crime of inhumanity.
And the amazing part is that this horrible, unimaginable crime is just a news footnote in our ‘greatest civilisation on the planet’. The systems will make sure this keeps happening because the bureaucracy-politician-capital-media nexus incentivises lack of morality.

Thane - 70 y/o objects to cab driver spitting on the road - cabbie beats him up causing a fracture
Delhi - Musician objects to loud noise outside his house - 8 people beat him to death
Kanpur - Trader objects to men urinating on the road, gets beaten to death
As unfair, unjust or cowardly as it may seem, there is no point in an individual private citizen trying to instill basic civic sense in the heads of unruly citizens.
People who break smaller rules shamelessly will not think twice before intentionally harming you for pointing out their lack of civic sense.
When the police aren't bothered, the civic authorities aren't bothered, the big influential politicians aren't bothered, it is not a wise decision for you to risk your life being bothered.

An 80-year-old mother is offering to return her son's Shaurya Chakra.
Not in anger at the nation.
In exhaustion.
Assistant Commandant Vivek Saxena fell fighting terrorists in Manipur on 8 January 2003. The country gave him the Shaurya Chakra. The state promised his family land and a memorial. Twenty-two years later, Savitri Saxena is still being sent from office to office. Asked for domicile papers. Asked where she lived before marriage. Asked to keep waiting.
She is 80. She says she no longer has the strength to keep doing the rounds. So she has brought the medal to a grievance camp and said: if this is the honour we give a martyr's mother, take it back.
A son gave his life.
A mother is being asked to prove she belongs.
That should break something in all of us.

A father was on oxygen support at home. His daughter asked the organisers to lower the DJ volume because he was unwell. They refused.
She called the police. The police arrived and got the music stopped. The moment they left, the organisers started blasting it at even higher volume, and then had the audacity to call her anti-religion for asking them to lower it.
Unable to bear the noise, she decided to leave with her father for a quieter place. The ambulance couldn’t reach them in time.
Her father died.
Good morning.

For a long time, I have changed my practice of caring for critically ill patients referred to me towards a more home-based hospice care approach - because right now, in Indian healthcare, dying inside hospitals is the biggest business. If doctors are sure the patient is not going to make it, they must offer them the option of dying with dignity in the comfort of their home, instead of escalating treatment and bankrupting families who live on the fringes of financial breakdown.
