Interview request for a large fitness magazine: I'm looking for any women who created an oversupply deliberately during breastfeeding, for weight loss. I'm happy to interview anonymously. If this sounds like you, please DM me. x
I spoke with @BBCNews about the rise of AI influencers this week - and just how concerning they are. youtu.be/x2-G4422tYA?t=201

@DanaeMercer: "‘Boys are mean because they like you,’ we tell little girls.
‘He pulled your hair because he cared’.
And then, as adults, we learn to sit back and smile
When men break us down.
When they poke fun at our bodies,
Our minds,
Our mental health.
When our hormones become punch lines
And ‘periods’ are seen as comical, irrational things.
I saw this Jerry Springer clip the other day.
And I couldn’t get it out of my mind:
How the man says something hideous.
How the woman smiles in response, because that’s what we’re told we must do.
And how the audience cheers.
It’s horrific.
Just like the Lindsay Lohan interview is horrific.
And while I like to think we have become better,
Everything that happened recently with Princess Kate,
With her asking for privacy but getting poked fun of instead,
Makes me worry.
I don’t know the solution.
But I do know this:
I will not teach my baby girl
That boys are mean
Just because they like her.
And I sure as heck
Won’t tell her she needs to take it all
With a smile."

@DanaeMercer: "I can adjust literally every part of myself.
The adjustments don’t ‘break’ like traditional filters - meaning I can move my hand across my face or look away.
Plus the app keeps videos high-res, so they look realistic.
All this means it’s going to be increasingly hard to tell what’s real
and what’s fake online.
Beauty standards are about to get a lot more complex."

Every post of mine on @instagram has been flagged in the last month. Including this one on my early miscarriage, flagged for seggsual activity. This glitch is awful :( #instagramglitch #instagramproblem
I am so glad I studied journalism and media, but my gosh, I wish I also understood business too. These are life skills that women in particular should be taught young.

THIS is the beauty standard our children will have to compete with."

Maybe maybe maybe these pharma companies are ‘thinking of the children’ with regards to childhood obesity. The CDC says children 2-19 had a 19.7% obesity rate in 2017-2020 - so yes, it’s a thing, and a legit challenge parents are facing. But…
