Twitter (sorry, 'X') is now forcing loads of Ads through my usual adblocker. Several today have been from climate change deniers. This site is quickly becoming unusable.

Boris Asafiev (29 July 1884-1949) composed more than 150 works, including 28 ballets and 11 operas. He's remembered as the doyen of Soviet musicology, and a critic who went under the name of Igor Glebov. Prokofiev's 1st Symphony and Myaskovsky's 3rd were dedicated to Asafiev.
Last day in New York! It's been a wonderful time looking at Prokofiev archive, and sketches by Schnittke and Stravinsky. Some of the most revealing have been of 'Petrushka' and 'Les Noces'. Here's the little-known full orchestral version of the latter: youtu.be/x-rW4CpyPF0

Are you the same guy who dropped his house building targets? Because I’m the guy who started building more council homes than the rest of England combined, exceeded your affordable homes targets & built more homes of any kind than since the 1930s. This is desperate nonsense.
Labour’s Sadiq Khan has failed to deliver the homes London needs, driving up prices and making it harder for families to get on the housing ladder.
So I’m stepping in to boost house building and make home ownership a reality again for Londoners.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Under Sadiq Khan were more new homes completed per year than under any previous Mayor of London.

Concert idea: to raise climate breakdown awareness and protest against Government, play Vivaldi's 'Summer' four times at an uncomfortably loud volume and urgent tempo.

Solidarity to @ucu A direct message to the university management. Docking the pay of your employees is a vindictive provocation when what is needed is for you to take responsibility & get serious about negotiating a decent settlement. #SettleTheDispute
