If you want the full text of the BRICS joint declaration that was just signed in New Delhi, it's available here: mea.gov.in/bilateral-documen…
It's huge: 140 paragraphs, and almost 18,000 words - on an incredible array of subjects from the wars in the Middle-East, to AI, to agriculture.
I won't go into the details of it, if only because there is just an overwhelming amount of it, but the overall impression it gives is that this is what serious multilateral governance looks like - especially if you compare it to recent G7 summits, which only produce a handful of short reactive statements rather than anything resembling this kind of comprehensive institutional blueprint.
Here - from building alternative financial infrastructure to food security - you really get the feeling that, as difficult as it is with such a diverse group of countries, they're actually trying to build things and to answer the governance challenges of our age, many of which are ironically created by the G7 😅
That's the new era: half the world, quietly building the institutions the West is busy destroying.

America has developed a profoundly disordered relationship with dogs, and that relationship seems to have intensified considerably since the pandemic.
The growing anthropomorphism of pets has become a genuine cultural problem. Increasingly, The Dog People insist on inserting their animals into virtually every area of human life, treating dogs not simply as companion animals, but as substitutes for people, and expecting society to accommodate them accordingly.
Dogs are being described as children, their behavior is interpreted through a human emotional lens, and ordinary boundaries between human and animal life are increasingly treated as somehow cruel or unnecessary. Businesses, workplaces, restaurants, travel, housing, and social gatherings are all expected to accommodate the preferences of people who have decided that their dogs should be included.
There is nothing wrong with loving a dog. There is nothing wrong with being deeply attached to an animal that has been part of your household for years. But, it is an animal nonetheless, and your affection does not erase the fundamental distinction between a human being and an animal.
Society is not obligated to restructure ordinary human spaces around an animal simply because its owner has elevated the animal to the status of a family member.

The Supreme Court will rule on birthright citizenship tomorrow morning…
It’s not an exaggeration to say this could be the most important decision in our lifetimes.
Under the current interpretation of the 14th Amendment, a foreign citizen of another nation can cross our border illegally at 9 months pregnant, give birth to an American citizen, and then return home. Their child is now eligible for US benefits and can vote in our elections.
The Chinese can also pay to have surrogate children on US territorial islands in the Pacific, then immediately ship the babies to China to be raised under the CCP. Those children are now eligible for US benefits and can vote in our elections.
Both of these scenarios are happening. It’s simply wrong and not at all what the Amendment was intended for, which was former slaves and their children during Reconstruction.
If it stands, US citizenship means nothing.

Surveillance inhibits the mind & spirit. Privacy frees them. Freedom explores, invents. If tech can protect this vital stream of energy at its sacred, private source, we'll all be richer for it, in the best ways. I'm thrilled that these engineers have made this their mission.

Upon being elected Speaker, Mike Johnson addressed the House on his priorities. He said:
"The first bill I’m going to bring to this floor will be in support of our dear friend, Israel."
Not a bill for the US. Not for Louisiana. Not for the US working-class. But "for Israel."👇
Today, I had the honor of welcoming my good friend, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, back to the U.S. Capitol. The Prime Minister and I discussed America’s commitment to Israel’s security and our shared goal of achieving a ceasefire agreement in Gaza that is righteous, enduring, and rooted in the principle of peace through strength. America and Israel’s strong stand in the 12-Day War dealt a devastating blow to the greatest enemy of peace in the region, leaving the Iranian regime weaker than at any point in decades. We are hopeful that this marks the dawn of a new chapter of peace in the Middle East.
