Parks Canada is responsible for forest management within Jasper National Park, which is a department of the Federal Government. Pine Beetles from BC have ripped through the park for more than a decade, killing thousands of hectares of trees, which laid there waiting for a source of ignition. Nothing has been done to mitigate this growing risk. Meanwhile, the Federal Government could have bought 211 Canadian made Canadair CL-415 water bombers with the $10 billion we have burned on the meat grinder in Ukraine. Today’s events are a results of terrible mismanagement of taxpayer dollars and negligence of responsibilities.
