Ahead of the final episode...
His partnership with Roger Allam's Fred Thursday gets all the attention
Personally I enjoyed the pairing of Shaun Evans & James Bradshaw (as Morse & Dr Max DeBryn), which has been absolutely brilliant
#Endeavour
RIP to another Columbo icon
Richard Riehle played Sgt. Degarmo in Ashes To Ashes & Murder With Too Many Notes
Very surprised to discover he was only 78
Excellent interview with Claudia Christian here on what went on during the making of Columbo: It's All In The Game

In memory of Bonnie Tyler, here's the best use of HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO in a movie. It's in a lot of movies, but there's only one SHORT CIRCUIT 2.
Not sure if anyone will see this as I barely use this site anymore but...
Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary 🎉

Just discovered that the very best, noblest, and the most iconic Watson of them all has passed. He was a crucial part of the Granada series and a fundamental reason why those first 13 episodes remain the gold standard of Holmes screen adaptations.
My dearest Watson.

David Burke passed away this week, aged 92
Burke played Dr. Watson opposite Jeremy Brett for the first two series of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He brought intelligence and warmth to the role. For many, the perfect partner in the most faithful Holmes adaptations.

Patrick McGoohan recalled to Roger Goodman that when he & Peter Falk parted after filming Identity Crisis, as they shook hands he could feel something cold in his palm. He opened his hand to find one of Peter's spare glass eyes staring up at him. "Be seeing you", grinned Falk.

Cool shared birthday today for a couple of late Columbo alumni, father and son Bruce and Bruno Kirby.
Both appeared in By Dawn's Early Light and Bruce is much-loved for his memorable performances across 9 episodes.
Rue also gave an absolutely marvellous performance in the Columbo episode Ashes To Ashes
The late Rue McClanahan was born today back in 1934 (passed away in 2010). McClanahan was best known for her roles in the tv series' "Maude", "Mama's Family" and "The Golden Girls". #80s
Happy Centennial Birthday Dick Van Dyke
Amongst his many roles is Paul Galesko in Negative Reaction
One of the greatest Columbo guest murderers
On a side note, it looks like Season 7 of Cagney & Lacey has finally been added to Prime Video now 🙌
Hey @primevideouk
How come you only have 6 seasons of Cagney & Lacey - where's the final season?
Reached the end of S2 & would've been nice to know you didn't have them all when I started?

Happy 100th Birthday to the legendary Oscar winning actress and director, Lee Grant! Here's to many healthy and joyous returns of the day! Brava!
Great Columbo reference in the S3 opener of Cagney & Lacey
What makes it all the more interesting is that Tyne Daley brings it up because she would subsequently appear twice in Columbo 😆

Started the first season of Cagney & Lacey...
Meg Foster is a different kind of good to Loretta Swit & it's a shame it reuses part of the pilot's plot
But where's that iconic theme tune???
Or does that not arrive until Sharon Gless takes over the role of Christine Cagney
BTW
When Tyne Daly appeared as a "former" prostitue in Columbo: Undercover, she wore a Zebra print gown
Whether coincidence or not, Tyne wore a similar print fur coat during the Cagney & Lacey pilot - where she was undercover as a prostitute
Watching the pilot movie of Cagney & Lacey (it's on Prime Video & so is the series if anyone's interested)
So Tyne Daly was there from the very beginning, but I'm surprised Sharon Gless wasn't
Loretta Swit is in the Pilot, while Meg Foster did the first season
One of my favourite Christopher Lee facts is when Saruman dies in Return of the King, Lee didn't need any direction about what sound someone makes when they're stabbed in the back - because of his classified war record, he just knew & Peter Jackson never questioned him
Every aspect of Sir Christopher Lee's life is astonishing. He met Rasputin's assassins, witnessed the last guillotine execution, hunted Nazis, recorded a heavy metal album, spoke nine languages, was Ian Fleming's cousin (author of James Bond), and was the only actor in “The Lord of the Rings” films to have met J.R.R. Tolkien.
