A great day for Sr, Daifer Moreta, going 1-3 at the plate with a sac fly and RBI. A great day to see guys who competed their hearts out against each other getting a chance to be teammates and cheer one another. Zak Novak (Naz), Daifer, and Ryan Petruska (Naz) @NAHSBlueEagles

Year two of the PSBCA East vs West game in the books 🙌🏻
Congratulations to Team East, who erased an early 7-1 deficit to come away with a 14-9 win over Team West.

Frame Lapse Mechanics - 4S Fastball
Moreta is an intriguing bullpen arm who just started pitching as HS Soph. being a primary SS w/athleticism (3rd video).
While his mechanics are raw, he hasn't been taught bad mechanics & has the capability / athleticism to keep his torso over the rubber / anchor, IMO (which would clean up other mechanical concerns of opening up front side early through allowing him to finish with a flat back during deceleration).
Modifying his transfer step alone may vastly improve his ability to keep his torso over the rubber through Peak Leg Lift (currently flat TS to more traditional 30*-45* TS). A traditional TS would provide Moreta "more runway" for his torso to stay over the rubber.
Why I like Moreta's potential is rooted in his athleticism & how he pulls his left elbow through from release to finish of his mechanics (noted in FLM breakdown).
His "top" velo of 88 MPH was recorded in July 2025 at a PG event. I saw Moreta pitch on 4.6.2026 (4th video) & when he came in, the pop of the catcher's mitt got my attention (2.2 IP, 6 Ks, Save). I would highly suspect he tops out in the low-90s. If he is capable of keeping his torso over the rubber, add another 5 MPH to his fastball.
His current pitch mix is 4S FB, Sinker, Sweeper & Changeup (4th video - Ks on SI, CH & 4S FB).
IMO, Moreta's current build is appropriate & his max pitching weight is ~175 lbs (too big of legs would eliminate his pitching athleticism).
Note: 2nd clip has FLM pitch, elevated 4S FB for K to notch a Save in 2026 District 11 6A Championship for @CanaryAthletics.

@DaiferMoreta5
A season I’ll carry with me forever.
Thank you to every teammate, coach, family member, and fan who helped make this possible. Bringing a championship back to Allen wasn’t done by one player—it was built by a family.
Canary Nation, thank you for believing.
See you in States. 🏆

Just a heads up having seen Moreta pitch. He tops out a lot higher than 84. Was throwing ⛽️ last night in 1.2 IP save in District finals.

Allen 7, Stroudsburg 5
@DaiferMoreta5 pumping gas for 1.2 IP, gets the final out himself & the Save to give @CanaryAthletics the D11 6A Championship, in addition to the EPC Championship. Now, off to the PIAA State Playoffs.
Allen has emerged as the favorite in EPC/D11 6A, IMO.
Their pitching depth is unmatched with four legit arms: @DaiferMoreta5, Tucker Heiser, @inoadejesusj & @Cartagenas3.
They can also hang a big inning on opponent, yesterday getting to EPC MVP favorite, Jack Lloyd, by way of timely hitting.
They've also beaten Ryan Petruska of Nazareth, the defending EPC MVP.
They may be new to the dance of EPC contenders from years past, but I've seen them play & they *know how to win.* They are a fun *baseball team* to watch.

While the Stroudsburg Mountaineers battled back several times during the game, the William Allen Canaries edged them out by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday night. This marks the first @PIAADistrictXI 6A Title for the Canaries since 1995. ⚾️
