I GAVE A FLY BRAIN ONE TASK: LEARN TO BALANCE ON A BICYCLE. IT FELL 1,238 TIMES. THEN SOMETHING CHANGED.
No instructions. No balance code. Just a real fly connectome, 139,255 neurons, wired to a body, a bike and physics.
First attempt: fell left after half a meter. Second: fell right. Third: did not even make it to the first line.
I sped the simulation up and left the room. When I came back the counter said 1239.
