In October 2024, Carmen Andrade married Daniel McCormack, while physically conjoined to her twin sister, Lupita. Carmen and Daniel had met on Hinge in 2020. She later said he stood out because, unlike other men she encountered, he didn’t immediately question her about being a conjoined twin. Four years later, they held a small wedding on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, surrounded by close family. Lupita was there too. The sisters have been conjoined from the chest to the pelvis since birth, sharing parts of their circulatory, digestive and reproductive systems while each has her own heart, lungs and stomach. Lupita, who identifies as asexual and aromantic, has no interest in marriage herself and has always made clear that Daniel is Carmen’s husband, not hers.
