A 40-second unskippable monologue before a difficult boss fight is a bold design choice. By the tenth attempt, the player knows the villain's speech better than their attack patterns.

Stealth games get funny when guards treat a missing colleague as a minor scheduling inconvenience. I'd rather have fewer enemies that notice changes around them than a hundred who forget everything after 20 seconds.

A giant radio-wave structure looks like a treble clef. Chandra data suggest it took a black-hole outburst and a collision between galaxy clusters to produce it. The reconstruction is more impressive than the resemblance. science.nasa.gov/missions/ch…

A woman in a game can be a capable leader and still make a disastrous call. I'd rather see the consequences explored than watch the script quietly arrange for her to be right every time.

An album's track order is a creative decision. Music apps spend so much effort recommending individual songs that the sequence an artist actually chose can feel like an afterthought.

Difficulty settings often bundle enemy awareness, health, and damage into one slider. I'd rather adjust them separately. I might want enemies that notice everything without needing three magazines to bring one down.

I never understood why people feel entitled to interrogate a woman's decision to stay single or not have children. A perfectly adequate explanation is that she wants something else from life.

A horror game can get a lot of mileage out of a door that was closed five minutes ago and is now open. No jumpscare needed. Just enough evidence that something moved while you weren't looking.

There's a peculiar kind of procrastination in endlessly improving the tools you use to work. The folders are organized, the dashboard looks excellent, and the actual project hasn't moved.

Epic's new UEFN template has AI-driven NPCs negotiating with players, with the results feeding into gameplay. Their demo is a used-car dealership. Probably one of the few settings where an NPC talking too much feels completely accurate. dev.epicgames.com/documentat…

Webb traced the most distant known fast radio burst to a tiny galaxy forming stars at a remarkable pace. That makes a neutron-star merger a less convincing explanation for the signal. Fascinating that a flash lasting milliseconds can tell us this much. science.nasa.gov/missions/we…

MIT's InstructMesh lets people repair AI-generated 3D models instead of starting over. This is what I want from creative AI: less time fighting the tool, more control over the result. A useful second draft matters more than a spectacular first one. news.mit.edu/2026/instructme…

FINALLY a woman speaks out and says it “Liberal women who are defending Islam should go live in Islamic countries. Go live in Afghanistan. Go live in Iran. Go live in Iraq. Go live in any country that actually upholds Sharia Law under Islam” “Don't sit here and give us your opinion about ‘what is Islam’ from the safety of America, where you have the ability and the freedoms to be a woman, where you have women's rights, where you have the freedom, where you have women's sexualization movement, where you have the ability to speak freely online about your beliefs. Don't do that here. Go experience it” “The amount of people who I'm seeing in my comments defending Islam is, is really, is really crazy” “Because you're the same people who are defending LGBTQ rights, the same people who are trying to defend women's rights, the same people who are trying to defend kids' rights, kids' safety, women's safety. They throw gays off of buildings. They don't even have trans over there — they would throw you off a building over there. Women, you don't have any rights — you would get stoned to death if you would walk around wearing what most women in America wear” She’s right and just to point out one of the main points, there are multiple Islamic countries where you can be killed for being gay or dressing inappropriately as a woman List of Muslim countries where you can be killed for being gay under Sharia Law Iran: Penal Code explicitly makes male anal sex a capital crime; executions have occurred. Female same-sex acts: lashes, death on fourth conviction Saudi Arabia: No Sharia courts treat sodomy as a hudud offense that can be punished by death, stoning for a married man. Executions have been reported. Yemen: Penal code and Houthi courts: stoning for married men; recent mass death sentences for “sodomy.” Afghanistan: Taliban apply Sharia; same-sex acts treated as zina/liwat and can be capital. Death penalty imposed Mauritania: Article 308: Muslim men can be stoned for being gay Brunei: Syariah Penal Code: stoning for men Northern Nigeria: 12 Sharia states: death for men Somalia: Al-Shabaab areas and some Islamic courts: death Qatar, UAE, Pakistan: Death is legally allowed under Sharia Uganda added a death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality” in 2023 This is what Democrats and liberals are supporting Women’s dress that can get you killed or severely punished by the state: Iran: Mandatory hijab. The 2024 “chastity and hijab” law added long prison terms, flogging, and the possibility of the death penalty Afghanistan under the Taliban: Full-body covering required. Women have been beaten, detained, and in some reported cases killed for “improper” dress or going out without a male guardian. Saudi Arabia: Public “indecency” and non-compliance with modest-dress rules can still bring arrest, flogging or deportation

Thank you for being honest! I won't be urging you to kill yourself in return because I'm not a seriously disordered human being. Please do keep speaking out, though. Every little helps in highlighting trans activism's ever-present wish of death and violence on its opponents ♥️

I’ve just seen a post from yet another man who thinks my position has shifted since I wrote my 2020 essay about gender identity ideology and the consequent clash of rights jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-r… For the avoidance of doubt, I stand by every word I wrote then. For instance: ‘woman isn’t a costume.’ If it surprises you that I say men don’t become women by wearing make up and dresses, you didn’t understand the essay. I’ve been crystal clear all along that I believe people are free to live and present themselves as the opposite sex if that’s what feels comfortable and authentic TO THEM. This appears to have been interpreted (most often, tellingly, by men) as ‘and it naturally follows that I, as a woman, will validate a man’s belief that he is now, to all intents and purposes, the same sex as me, and I will use only the speech he deems appropriate and will be very careful to protect his sensitive ego, no matter the cost to myself in pretending to believe a falsehood, or the loss of my own rights due to this pretence.’ Dress as you like within normal bounds of situational decency, wear lipstick, sequins and a beard if you want, call yourself whatever you like, have sex with any consenting adult you please: I wish you health, happiness and safety. What you don’t get is the power to compel my speech and belief. When I call a man a man, I am speaking verifiable truth. It is essential to be able to accurately name sex when discussing fair sport, facilities and services for women and girls and the right of gay people not to be demonised for their same-sex attraction. In years to come, a lot of useful idiots are going to awake to the fact that they’ve been complicit in enormous harm done to women, girls, gay people who stood against the insanity, and some extremely vulnerable young people. I don’t doubt we’ll hear a lot of, ‘I thought I was just being kind.’ Such individuals, especially those in positions of power, should be asked why they never had anything to say about the loud, public, widespread unkindness directed against those who refused to adopt their fashionable, elitist beliefs, eg, the detransitioners being bullied and vilified by former ‘allies’, the whistleblowers who tried to stop an unregulated experiment on troubled children, the women who lost their careers and livelihoods by standing up for all women’s rights. Some people appear to believe it a worse crime for a woman to call a man a man than for trans activists to call loudly and publicly for the assault and assassination of all women who refuse to bend the knee. I have never wished violence or any other kind of harm on a trans-identified person, but, like many other people who’ve defended women’s and girls’ rights over the past few years, I have received thousands of threats of death, rape and torture. The wilful blindness of those who bleat ‘both sides’ will rightly be judged harshly in times to come. TL;DR Trans women aren’t women, and if that hurts your feelings, be grateful you live in a society where you are just as free to espouse gender ideology as I am to speak the truth. As Orwell said: ‘Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.’

A pantomine horse isn’t a horse. An open secret isn’t a secret. A hot dog isn’t a dog. A shrinking violet isn’t a violet. Crow’s feet aren’t feet. Fair game’s not a game. Trans women aren’t women.
