have been paying very close attention to this protocol for the past few weeks and watched it ship features & FMI alignments nonstop (one of which is with the DTCC itself, which is interesting since $QNT recently pumped 3billion$ from TCH alignment. i dont think its priced properly yet that FMI alignment might be the deepest moat there is in the coming rwa cycle, non-symmetric information propagation means that theres often mispriced sleepers in the market) - noticed that the latest trajectory that the protocol is moving towards is very much interesting, especially if team continues executing.
essentially, this protocol is gunning to be the AWS of tokenized equities. they started from dominating the institutional chain (Canton) in an RWA bull market like how HL dominated the perps chain (Arbitrum), and are aligning with the DTCC like how Hyperliquid aligned with the CFTC. the risk is there - they are still early. but if they execute, there is a non-zero likelihood of becoming one of, if not the main player of Tokenized Equities in the coming 600Trillion$ Tokenized Equities bull market.
based on their (recently updated) docs - and i haven't seen anyone on the TL talk about this - their upcoming new protocol addition makes them the first (both tradfi and defi) to be able to allow traders to trade perps without selling their spot tokenized stocks - essentially, unlocking the entirety of 600Tn$ RWA sector as smart contract-enforced margin to trade anything and everything.
in other words, the first protocol to allow traders to trade perps without selling their stocks.
at 2$ it was obvious that hype were dominating perps on Arbitrum. but most were caught off guard that Perps on Equities would grow this big (and going to grow even bigger - all in all hl is still the greatest play in our industry).
today, i wonder how many will be caught off guard when DeFi on Tokenized Equities takes off. and how many will generate asymmetric returns from it.
for now, it is one of the main (if not the main) sector im extremely interested in

In short once @ZenithFdn connects Canton to the EVM network then thats when Edel and Canton products go to the moon and hopefully that is in Q4
in the meantime price is just speculation or your convicted enough to Bridge to the Canton Network which is unlikely for most as its not seen as a trenches network like Robin Hood.

However EDEL you can buy the coin on Base EVM which gives it an edge being on both Base and Canton networks.

The thesis is simple, so take a minute to understand why I think you need some exposure.
I’m not going to go over the importance of the DTCC partnership again. I’ve highlighted it several times already, including when $EDEL was sitting around a $5M market cap.
It’s now ~$30M.
I’m also not going to rehash the significance of Brad Klass, the former BlackRock executive who helped scale global securities-lending operations from just over $1B to nearly $40B.
But the latest announcement is what really starts to confirm the path toward $1B+.
