Palestinian flags. Burning buildings. Looted stores. At a "student protest" about school conditions. The cause changes. The chaos doesn't.
🇫🇷 Crazy footage from Limoges, France, right now. The town hall is on fire with thick black smoke pouring out and flames right at the entrance, while the crowd just stands there watching. These students keep wrecking public buildings and treating it like some kind of protest. Zero respect for anything. Writer: Daniyal

French news CNews reported this morning that the rioters had addresses of Jewish shop owners and that, on one Marseille street, all Jewish-owned businesses were set on fire while Muslim-owned ones were not.

Considering that you've broken everything that you've been involved with, your endorsement solidifies my desire to support and vote for Brad Bradford. Why anyone would consider your endorsement a positive thing is beyond comprehension.
I am voting for Olivia Chow for Mayor of Toronto. Her commitment to a city that works for everyone has been clear and deserves support. She is wise and caring. She pushes forward with courage and compassion and has the integrity and consistency we need at this moment.

As France is burning, I keep thinking of what the UAE Foreign Minister said a few years ago 👇 He accurately predicted this.

No French flags at the so-called “student” protests in France. Why are Palestinian and Algerian flags being waved at demonstrations supposedly about better schools? This was never really about education. It’s a show of Muslim power and about imposing dominance, with the help of far-left useful idiots.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video is from a May 25, 2025 Gaza solidarity rally in Paris, not the ongoing student protests about school conditions. sicnoticias.pt/sicverifica/20… faktograf.hr/2026/10/16/sni…

It must be a complete coincidence that so many of the “teenage protesters” are wearing masks and keffiyehs and chanting slogans calling for the destruction of the West. Pure coincidence. cnn.com/2026/10/17/world/liv…

Bill maher predicts a tough midterm for trump Host: What do you think the message of the midterms will be? You told Fareed Zakaria that you believe Trump could face a historic ass-whooping because he got drunk on power. That’s a bold prediction. Bill Maher: Okay, well, that’s what I think it will be, because there’s a message that has to be sent. I worry about 2028 on both sides because, you know me, Chris, I think both sides certainly have their crazies. But that business will have to wait. The voters have one piece of business on their mind right now, and that is that half the country didn’t like Trump to begin with. Any chance to give him a thumping, they welcome. Then add the people who are disappointed — people who voted for him for whatever reason and now don’t like the war, don’t like the Epstein thing, don’t like the gas prices. The economy is really not that bad, but that’s what people always do. They think they’re more miserable. They did it with Biden. It wasn’t that terrible. We’re very lucky people, but I know people are suffering, too. Anyway, I just think all of this, plus there’s a lame-duck aspect to this. This is the last run, and he’s just not King Kong anymore. I keep saying this about the scene from Training Day, where Denzel says, “I’m King Kong up in here.” Not anymore. Not anymore. The bigger question: Will voters use the midterms to send Trump a message, or will the issues driving frustration with his administration fade before Election Day?

Not a student protest.
Galeries Lafayette in Paris is being looted tonight. It’s the French equivalent of Harrods in London or Bergdorf Goodman in NYC

This skit started off terribly but then descended into something so hilarious. She said she's having a raw-Æss time with her husband
some sitcoms can turn the smallest family interaction into an emotional crisis. snl’s “beers” takes that formula and pushes it until the drama becomes ridiculous. when cousin c.j., played by larry david, visits mario and josh, played by kyle mooney and beck bennett, the sketch adopts the visual language of an earnest 1990s teen drama. every awkward exchange feels monumental. every pause seems to carry emotional weight. even the cutaway footage behaves as if we’re watching a life-changing television event. the joke isn’t simply that the characters are awkward. it’s that the show treats their awkwardness with the seriousness of a story about heartbreak, betrayal, or a family falling apart.

Let's be clear, Bob Rae was a disaster when he ran Ontario. After that, he worked with and supported the Trudeau government which was a disaster for Canada. Now, he's endorsing Olivia Chow. Choose wisely Toronto. Don't follow Bob's advice, he has a bad track record.
Thank you for your support, Bob.

the director told these actors to look like they were having the best meal of their lives, and kenan thompson ended up with his entire face buried in pasta “sir, can i take my face off of pasta now?”
Before 1960, nobody had a number one comedy album. Then a former accountant recorded his first nightclub run. Bob Newhart had very little stage experience. The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart was recorded during the first nightclub performances he had ever given. It became the first comedy album to hit number one on Billboard. At the 1961 Grammys it won Album of the Year, beating Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Harry Belafonte. He also won Best New Artist, and he is still the only comedian to win both. It led to an NBC variety show that won an Emmy and a Peabody and lasted one season. He’d never worked a nightclub before. He made history in his first run.

Chris Rock just nailed one of the biggest problems with wokeness. Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution. The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing. That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined. A system built to find wrongdoing will keep finding it, whether it’s there or not.

Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully. Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la République, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the Élysée Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched. And then came Limoges. A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed. The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic." That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires. None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism. Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in. My dear American friends, I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down. It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames. Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight. France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm. My dear American friends, the only advantage you have over us is that you've been warned. Vote like your city hall depends on it. Because one day, it will.
