Education is about developing an identity as a learner. The goal isn’t to complete an assignment. It’s to be a thinker. The goal isn’t to get a right answer. It’s to be a questioner. The goal isn’t to read a book. It’s to be a reader.
Some of the most important work you’ll do today won’t be your lessons, your assessments, or your technology. The most important work will be your encouragement of others, your connection with your students, and your passion for making a difference. What you do matters.

Your work as an educator can’t be effectively quantified. Not by test scores. Not by evaluation ratings. Not by value added measures. Education is a human endeavor and your value is more than a number. What you do matters. You go above and beyond every day for kids.

I learned from @ToddWhitaker that people are more important than programs. I think most educators would agree with this. So I wonder why schools typically spend so much time in PD developing/implementing programs instead of developing people? Let’s invest in people first.
