Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made a valid point.🔥 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar objected to LeBron’s “Mount Rushmore” (the four greatest players of all time) picks. And he left LeBron off the list of GOAT candidates 🐐 In an NBA TV interview, LeBron James was asked to name the four greatest players in NBA history. He picked Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Oscar Robertson, then added that he himself would definitely be in that top four. If there wasn’t room for him, he said, somebody would have to be removed. Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar rejected that view head-on. “It’s impossible to narrow it down to four. I don’t know what LeBron was thinking. He never saw Bill Russell play, and he has no idea what Russell accomplished. Eleven championships in 13 years? Eight in a row? LeBron isn’t even going to get close to that record. I don’t get it. And yet he left Russell off his Mount Rushmore. I think today’s players have a very limited perspective on the game. He needs to rethink that. He should do more research and watch the old film. He’ll be impressed. The game is much easier now that rules like hand-checking have been abolished.” — Source: The Salt Lake Tribune Kareem himself is a legend with six championships and six MVPs, a résumé that surpasses LeBron’s. That’s exactly why his words carry weight. As NBA fans, we agree with him 100%.
