This persona strategy drove double-digit lifts across the board.
@noahsfriedman, Co-founder at @getoutersignal, breaks it down.
"A very popular supplement brand went from sending everyone the same email to tailoring its marketing around customer personas."
An executive might buy to stay sharp between meetings. A Midwestern mom may have a different reason for buying that same product.
That difference should shape more than the email subject line.
The brand carried its personas through:
• Emails: tailor the message to the customer’s reason to buy
• Landing pages: reflect that same customer’s needs
• Creative: build around the benefit relevant to that group
• Offers: adapt them to the persona
For operators, that gives you a concrete campaign audit.
Pick one customer persona and follow their journey from the ad to the landing page and follow-up email.
Does the same reason to buy carry through every touchpoint? Or does the personalized ad lead straight back to a generic pitch?

Meta/Muse went all in on partnership ads and collabs and my entire instagram feed is Muse ads now. Impressive work

Often when I feel tired, I remember that I get to build epic sh*t with insanely talented people.
And then I no longer feel very tired.
Pressure is a privilege.
Working hard at problems worth solving with people that inspire you is quite simply the best.
Absolutely love being able to connect someone who’s looking for a service with the absolute best at providing said service.
The ultimate “I know a guy”
just finally met and jammed with @DTC_Jared!
appreciate the time and sauce on how to help optimize and strategize how Birdie is using @getoutersignal

I've spoken to over 1500 brands about building and scaling creator programs.
By far the most common blocker is finding creators to partner with. Both for brands just launching these programs and for brands looking to scale them.
Traditionally you could either look organically on social, hire agencies or talent groups, or use a marketplace like SideShift or Trybe.
All are good options but come with some limitations. These are either expensive or are a cold pitch to creators. Negotiations take a long time, rates aren't usually favorable.
And if you have an expensive product, or need a very specific creator (someone who is gluten free, someone with a dog, someone who owns XYZ product) many of those options wont work.
The newest route brands have been using is tapping into their customer base. OuterSignal makes it extremely easy to ID customers who have followings and create custom, automated experiences for them to help land new partnerships.
The most creative routes have been:
-Auto taggging orders from creators to give extra samples, a handwritten note, or custom insert about a creator program
-Tagging the creators profile in Klaviyo/Omnisend/Attentive to give them a custom post purchase flow that pushes them to the creator program
-Auto messages sent internally to slack notifying the team about creators who are buying, reaching out directly to the creators on social
This is the most cost effective and time effective way to get real, genuine partnerships for brands in 2027.
How are you sourcing creators?
This is the best UGC for a product release I’ve ever seen. Insane visual and hook, clearly shows the product/benefit, and it doesn’t feel like an ad at all. It’s perfect.

Your target customer might not actually be your customer.
@orenmeetsworld, Partner at Darkroom Agency, sees brands make this mistake all the time:
“You’ve been in a room with a VC or your boss or a CEO who’s like, ‘This is our target demographic. This is who’s buying our product.’”
Except now marketers can actually check.
Oren recently worked with a beauty brand that had built its entire marketing strategy around Gen Z.
Gen Z content, influencers, and seeding.
Then they looked at the actual customer data.
The people buying were Gen X and Millennials.
“Women buying, wanting to be younger, wanting to be cool with a brand.”
And that changes the entire way you think about the marketing.
As Oren put it:
“Our marketing’s not wrong. We just were going to the wrong demographic.”
For years, brands built customer personas from surveys, assumptions and what executives thought their customers looked like.
But marketers don't have to guess anymore.
“We can now see the full funnel of how people get there.”

This is awesome. Been encouraging creators and brands doing whitelisting to do a similar concept with winning creative.
Now it’s so much easier

If you run a giveaway first company and you want to exit let me know
My team and I are buying.
Replying to @DTC_Jared @SharedSweeps
Haha indeed
Depending on prize value and cash value provided, cash is usually more selected option
Optionality and easier on the tax side of things for the winners (don’t quote me on that, it just seems that way for me rn)
Craig and sharedsweeps and I talk about this every day, he’s the goat at this
Sharedsweeps is the easiest giveaway bolt on out there, particularly because Craig is a compliance savant and makes sure everything is legal
Most giveaway companies are waiting for a lawsuit that will wipe them off the face of the earth
(At which point I will swoop in and acquire for Pennies on the dollar, make compliant, and scale with a set of audiences I can’t currently own/access due to brand constraints)

Yo @DTC_Jared got me set up on Outersignal just now, influencer program shaping out nicely
stacking with @RefunnelApp, your boy about to go super saiyan with this
All time favorite email I’ve ever received.
S/o to the whole @getoutersignal team for building something really cool
Seeing a few cases of brands getting the real, actual emails from customer who are buying on TikTok shop.
Is anyone else seeing this? Did TikTok change something or is this a bug?
It’s so good to see all my friends and the whole DTC community on the X timeline again.
Truly the best update in a long, long time.
Welcome back everyone

we have an exciting new influencer partnership dropping soon @hexclad ...
it's exciting because we've have never activated with this type of creator before.
he's in the personal development, wealth building, and productivity niche.
i've always had a hunch this niche can be high performing, but an @getoutersignal identified persona is what finally gave me the confidence to act on it.
i read the persona description and knew EXACTLY who the perfect creator was...
the hypothesis is simple.
a high percentage of our customers already fall under this persona, and this has happened almost entirely organically.
i believe there's a lot of performance upside by creating funnels targeting this persona specifically.
or as @couuor puts it, we're only 1/4 of the way to the peak of this ad angle's local maximum.
