Galloway: When you use the term genocide, I think it connotes a notion that whoever’s committing this genocide is guilty of something so horrific that it justifies, potentially, a genocide against them.
El-Sayed: Calling something a genocide DOES NOT justify a genocide. You can’t say that because one group committed a genocide that a genocide ought to be justified against them. That is not the argument anyone is making.

Hasan Piker had a heart-to-heart with his community about the power of being 'normal' with the goal of bringing people to our side. It's important to be palatable. He also talked about the dangers of gatekeeping and about why it's important to extend olive branches to those unfamiliar with leftist and socialist ideology: "It's probably unhelpful to make it even less accessible if we are feeding into the preconceived notions of what it means to be a socialist; an annoying woke-scold. I've never done that and perhaps that is a major part of the reason why this community is the size that it is. Throughout many different hinge points when this community has grown, there have always been people that have demanded a retreat over and over again. 'Why are you welcoming these new people? They are reactionary. Why are you welcoming these new people? They are ableist. Why are you welcoming these new people? They are racist and transphobic.' Some of those people we have welcomed with open arms and they have changed their minds over time. Is your goal to have the perfect safe space where no one disagrees with you? Or is your goal to build a mass movement? Purity testing, taking a morally righteous, maximalist position; these are poisonous for community development. Poisonous for organizing."
“Mass Deportation” means, literally, mass deportation and that means your family, friends and neighbors.

I've been following reports of ICE enforcement in southwest Kansas.
Something has gone very wrong when schools are warning about children going uncared for and businesses are closing in fear. The leaders and law enforcement of Dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal even announced they had no idea what was happening and pleaded for more information from their government. One city commissioner said people are being stopped at random in the street.
This is not how Washington should be treating Kansans. Federal enforcement should focus on serious criminals in coordination with local officials and Kansas families shouldn't live in fear.

Another person has died in ICE custody after he was not administered insulin shots for his diabetes.
Carlos Josue Marchena Marchena is the 3rd person to die at this Louisiana detention center and the 58th person to die while detained during Trump's second term.

The takeaway both parties really need to get through their heads from this New York Times piece is that Hispanic voters are the quintessential swing voters.
There is never going to be a "permanent realignment" of Hispanic voters to one team or the other. They're a heterodox enough group, with enough competing interests, that there's no reason they're going to pick one party and stick with it forever.

1) The place where they work is very very pro-Israel. That interview went over very well from the standpoint of management.
2) Hasan is absolutely right that the way we navigate conversations about violence depends on who we think has the right to use force.
