I humbly and proudly announce the arrival of the @elbowenforcer… This is a glimpse of what is to be unveiled in the pursuit of lowering the risk of elbow injuries for the first time in 49 seasons!
Really love the opportunity that Sam Houston State University has provided for their Kinesiology Students to learn through application. Use the QR below to sign up.
2019 was the last year we had our Charity Ping Pong Tournament... It's been too long, so we decide to give y'all what you have been asking for, a 32 Team Spikeball Tournament... Let's see what DST location will prevail!!!
How to become invaluable… Do the work… I guarantee, you will never regret doing the work… one last thing, do the work over a long period of time.
Internships perceived by students as free work underestimate the value of learning.
We enjoy providing a platform where interns develop coaching competency and education that revolves around our physical principles and assessment process.
Building up your team… hasn’t been a full year back at @DST_Houston @DST_SanAntonio @DST_Arizona and the team has been building me up!

Pro Baseball Off-Season is officially underway. If you are in Houston, @DST_Houston is the place to be. If you are not, let us handle your off-season remotely through the @FYTTio app.
DM for details.
Whether I am in a Big League dugout or at a local ballpark there is nothing like having purpose in the work you do and encouraging athletes regardless of the outcome.
The great thing about training is everything works but everything doesn’t work forever… Evolve. Adapt. Grow
@stevemagness is a great resource regardless of what sport or industry you are in. Wish I would have spent more time in his office at UofH.

As a young coach there r moments that happen that create an impression. Marion Barber gave me confidence & showed me how 2 prepare at the highest level & have fun, I will never forget the impact he had on me. I weep for the loss but will show joy today in remembrance of a friend.
Specific adaptations to imposed demands. Sometimes I think that people in our profession take the easy way out. Meaning they think general physical preparation is good enough when paired with skill acquisition.
If adaptation from stress was as easy as P90X and muscle confusion then I believe we would see the majority of pitchers throwing 90+, instead we have pitchers that are more prone to having UCL surgery.
An important lesson I learned when I worked with @USSailingTeam from 2008-2012 was
Humility: The athletes willingness to take inventory on the world-class abilities they already possessed and their curiosity to refine not protect their process.
DST Stress Principle
The science of periodization is what helps us systematically plan and organize training; The art is teaching athletes to reach without overtraining. This process takes time and a desire to learn the skills to measure & interpret stress.
Many coaches tell their teams they are only as strong as their weakest link. The same is true for dynamic movement. If 2 of the 3 muscular contractions are not deliberately trained, u will undoubtedly create deficiencies in ur movement potential, force capability & tissue quality
Tempo Principle
The concentric phase is often the muscular contraction that is emphasized in many programs. It’s also the easiest and most common to measure, as most coaches track how much an individual can maximally lift.
We believe quantifying is important and performing repetition maxes between 1-3 reps should be included in training most athletes.
VBT devices are affordable and allow progressive overload adaptations to be monitored and progressed. We scale our training velocities using @vitruvefit and @TendoSport have used @GymAware extensively and have demoed @perchFit
