After 10 years, the @DRHCSyria role has ended as part of the @UN's transition to a new #Syria.
Leaving Gaziantep with a heavy heart, I won't forget the communities & aid workers I met on both sides of the border. Wishing all Syrians a brighter future.

Syria has historic yet fragile opportunity to chart new path, after 14 years of crisis.
3/4 of population need food, water, medicine, electricity.
We have surged almost sevenfold — reaching millions with lifesaving aid.
More is needed. I’m heading to Brussels to make the case.

⚠️ The people of #Syria have endured 14 years of conflict.
The transition that began in December brings much awaited hope and has allowed humanitarians to expand aid.
But, with the current state of funding, vital efforts are at risk. The international community must step up. ⏬

After 14 years of conflict, #Syria urgently needs large-scale investment to rebuild.
Landmines and explosive hazards threaten lives, with 600 casualties in just 3 months.
@TheHALOTrust, supported by @CBPFs, is clearing these dangers, so families can safely return home.

Many internally displaced people in #Syria haven't returned to their homes, which have been reduced to rubble.
Those still in camps need sustained humanitarian aid until they can rebuild their lives.

The future of #Syria hinges on its people, including Syrian aid workers.
Proud to share that 70 per cent of $28M allocated from Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund's Reserve Allocation went to Syrian NGOs. We must continue to invest in people.
