If billionaires came out and said they were going to hunt us for sport, some of you would defend it by saying: "You’re just mad because you can’t fucking run fast."

The way that Robert Kraft, a US billionaire, has intervened to successfully censor the tour of one of the world’s most popular musicians is a prime example of how capitalism does *not* advance freedom.

Palestinians have been dehumanized to such an extreme degree that simply advocating for their liberation from apartheid and occupation is described as “hurtful” to people who only want their oppression to continue.
Macklemore says Ed Sheeran and his team decided to remove him from tour due to his comments in support of Palestine, after Kraft Group rallied stadium owners and gave Ed an ultimatum: “[Ed] told me that the words ‘Free Palestine’ and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with. I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood. But he couldn't get past his public facing, ‘I don't take sides.’”

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Big Tech is offering you a Faustian bargain. It promises to remove all the friction from life, and the result is your brain will become pudding, you’ll become incapable of doing things you’ve been doing your whole life. They want you helpless, subservient and compliant.
This is GPT-6 Astra. Anything you can do on a computer, Astra can do for you. Fast.

Look, is AI making our lives better? No. But is it making things less expensive? Unfortunately, the opposite. Now, is it making the internet a better place? More slop than ever, actually! But does it allow us to spend more time being creative? That's actually the thing it's best at stealing without shame. Though, surely it's making us smarter, right? You’ll never guess, but…

How come Al is inevitable and we need to adapt and accept it, but renewable energy, tackling microplastics and restoring ecosystems are framed as stupid and inconvenient? The gaslighting from the 1% is top tier.

Let me get this straight... OpenAl was founded as a nonprofit. Open source. For everyone. "To benefit humanity." Then he raised billions of dollars. Then he closed the source code. Then he converted to for-profit. Then he scraped the entire internet without asking anyone. Then he used YOUR writing YOUR art YOUR code to train his models. Now he's on stage saying you'll pay HIM to access intelligence. Just like a water meter. He stole all of your data. He built the product with your work. And now he's going to bill you to use it... Corporate greed has reached an all time high, and they're not even hiding it anymore...
Open AI CEO, Sam Altman: “We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter.”

Longtime “SportsCenter” anchor Linda Cohn questioned whether A’ja Wilson has some level of insecurity toward Caitlin Clark and whether that could be a reason she isn’t playing in the FIBA World Cup. And I guess the question we have is: What exactly would A’ja Wilson be insecure about? Is it basketball-related? It can’t be. Caitlin Clark is a zero-time champion at the high school, collegiate and, currently, WNBA level. Wilson is a high school state champion, led South Carolina to its first national championship and helped build a dynasty with the Las Vegas Aces, where she has won three WNBA championships. Oh, and she’s the only player in league history with four MVPs. So clearly, it isn’t about basketball accomplishments. Are we talking about off the court? That doesn’t make much sense either. Clark’s most notable appearances away from basketball have largely involved golf. Not exactly sure why that would be something Wilson is sitting around feeling insecure about. So is it the fans and attention? When you look at the fans Clark has, who exactly would want that? And obviously Wilson isn’t going to receive the exact same type of attention Clark does. She has never been pushed and pumped by the media at the rate Clark has, nor has she ever found herself at the center of the type of racially charged rivalry that has followed Clark throughout her professional career. It’s a disservice to Caitlin Clark when so much of the conversation surrounding her relies on tearing down other players. And it’s incredibly disrespectful to players like Wilson when trusted sports-media figures throw around narratives like this about someone who has spent years building one of the greatest résumés in basketball. It only adds fuel to the baseless jealousy narrative and gives Clark’s fans more red meat to feed off of, reinforcing this idea that Clark is somehow a damsel in distress who needs to be defended from other players. That, in turn, creates even more hostility toward players who are portrayed as jealous, bitter or somehow threatened by her when there is no actual basis for those claims. Eventually, you start to realize that there are far too many paid fans disguised as media members. At some point, a line has to be drawn. Enough is enough.

NYC banning AI in schools is exactly the kind of thing I want to see. Keep the teachers. Keep the books. Let kids actually learn how to think, write, and solve problems instead of outsourcing everything to AI. Education should make kids smarter, not more dependent.

do not let a coordinated republican smear campaign become “reality.” my argument against the dangerous false conflation between zionism and judaism which in turn increases antisemitism is now turned on it’s head. zionism is not judaism. antizionism is not antisemitism.
The malicious claim that American Jews are inviting violence against themselves is dangerous and antisemitic. There is zero justification for threats against the safety of our Jewish brothers and sisters at a moment of rising hate. We will fight the cancer of antisemitism with the fierce urgency of now.
