Sylvester Stallone doesn't own Rocky. He has to ask a 95-year-old man for permission to play a character he invented, and that's who he means by "the other fellow."
The guy's name is Irwin Winkler, and the story of how he ended up owning Rocky instead of Stallone is wild.
Back in 1975, Stallone was a broke actor with $106 in his bank account. He wrote Rocky in three and a half days. Studios loved it and offered him up to $360,000 for the script, but they wanted Burt Reynolds or Ryan O'Neal in the lead. Stallone turned all of it down and took about $75,000 plus points so he could play Rocky himself.
Great call for his career. Terrible call for ownership, because the rights went to the producers, Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff.
When Rocky won Best Picture in 1977, Stallone sat in the audience and watched the two producers walk onstage to collect the Oscar for the movie he wrote.
Fifty years later the franchise is at nearly $1.8 billion across nine films, and Stallone's cut is an acting paycheck. Winkler still controls the character.
It boiled over in 2022 when a Drago spinoff got announced and nobody even told Stallone. He went off publicly, called Winkler a "parasite" picking clean the bones of characters he created, and admitted the thing that actually stings. All he ever wanted was a piece of Rocky to leave his kids, and he never got it.
So yeah, he'll do Creed 4 with Michael B. Jordan. He just refuses to work with the man who bought his life's work off him for $75,000 when he was desperate, and honestly, who would.
Sylvester Stallone Says He’ll Never Watch ‘Creed 3’ But He’s Open to Making ‘Creed 4’ With Michael B. Jordan.
When asked if he could ever bring himself to watch Creed 3, Stallone gave a blunt answer.
“Never.”
He clarified that his feelings weren’t about Michael B. Jordan, whom he described as a nice guy, or the studio.
“But it’s just been such a real rough emotional ride, that’s all. And it really has.”
“If Michael B. Jordan, we come up with a story, I’ll do Creed 4 with him, as long as the other fellow is not involved.”

I think if our federal govt is trying to make it really hard for people to vote.. you should actually make an effort to vote.

Chris Rock opens up about one of his CLOSEST FRIENDS spending 19 YEARS in prison for a crime he DIDN’T COMMIT, admitting he had the money to help him get a lawyer but chose NOT TO 😳
He says the case showed him how quickly Black men can be ACCUSED of anything and treated as GUILTY from the start.
“I had the means to help him and I didn’t. And I don’t know if we could have got him out or not, but still.”

This question only exists because one of the artists worked really hard to make it exist. Doggystyle was like the rap version of THRILLER when it dropped.

Being a Baydestrian we felt no way about the Pop Out. We was proud of LA. We used to not being included, that’s why we work the independent Wiggle so well. So going forward whoever yelling “WESTCOAST” just make sure The Bay is included, not just when it’s convenient. All Love.
After Glasses Malone "pressed" P-Lo over working with Drake on “2 Hard 4 The Radio”, a record aimed at Mustard and Kendrick Lamar, TDE Keem offers his theory on where some of the Bay’s resentment may come from.
Speaking on MackWop TV, Keem says he’s talked to people in the Bay who felt overlooked during Kendrick’s Pop Out, despite it being celebrated as a major West Coast moment.
Interesting perspective considering E-40 narrated the entire Pop Out. 👀
