They’re not meaningless. Not to the seniors who just played their last game in a uniform they’ll never put on again. Not to the coaches who spent years building something real. Not to the families who sacrificed weekends, money, and sleep so their kid could chase this. Not to the staff who choose to work just to be closer to the game, the students & fans in the stands who bring life to stadiums, and every person who makes a Saturday in college football feel like the most important day in the world. Football is life to a lot of people. This sport college football is the greatest game on earth because every game means something. Every stadium, every rivalry, every bowl, every last chance to play for your school and your brothers and for the game you grew up playing. It all matters. So when you look at a bowl game and shrug and say it doesn’t count because it’s not the playoffs… you’re not just dismissing a game. You’re dismissing years of work, sacrifice, and dreams. You’re telling those players and those families that what they just lived doesn’t matter. And if you can do that and still call yourself a fan of this sport, that’s tragic. Because somewhere along the way, you stopped understanding what college football actually is.
