Aqib Talib’s takedown of Ryan Fitzpatrick reminded me when he did the same thing w/ the Broncos when Harry Douglas took a cheap shot at @ChrisHarrisJr

I think about @coachkelley1’s quote a lot when thinking about offense: “Be different or be better.”
One of the best high school offenses I’ve ever seen was on a very talented team. What did they run?
Inside Zone. 4 Verts. Hitches.
They had more talent, kept it simple, and didn’t beat themselves.
Scheme can be a great equalizer. But like ibuprofen, too much of it will kill you.
Before adding more to your offense, ask yourself: Can you teach it? Can you execute it? Do your players have the skill set to run it?
Be different or be better. A simple offense executed at a high level can outperform a complex offense that players can't execute consistently.
Sophisticated simplicity is the world I like to live in: Present complexity to the defense while keeping execution simple for your players.
Same players. Same core skills. Repped hundreds of times. Different presentations. Simple ingredients. Lots of combinations.
Make the defense solve different problems without asking your players to learn a new offense every week.
Be different in presentation. Be better in execution.
NEW: Northwestern head coach David Braun tells @PeteNakos he’s asked, "What are we doing on offense?" before hearing Chip Kelly’s explanation😂
"The clarity I’ve had is that you don’t hire one of the most creative minds in all of College Football history and box them in."

JaMarcus Shephard spent his entire career turning someone else’s wide receivers into superstars. Now he’s a head coach for the first time, and he gets the best pass catcher in the country all to himself.
