No matter how hard @Wizards_DnD tries to make #DnD monsters less offensive and more politically correct, nothing will save them from my murderhobo party. 😂
Softer monsters. Same murderhobos. 🎲⚔️

🏰 THIS DAY IN D&D HISTORY! ⚔️
October 14, 1981, 45 years ago today!
According to TSR’s publication records, today marks the release of U1: THE SINISTER SECRET OF SALTMARSH!
Written by Dave J. Browne with Don Turnbull, U1 was the first AD&D adventure module written in the United Kingdom!
Four miles east of Saltmarsh stands a deserted mansion overlooking the sea. Strange lights, bloodcurdling screams, rumors of an alchemist’s hidden treasure…
Naturally, a group of low level adventurers decides to investigate.
What could possibly go wrong? 😂
What follows is one of AD&D’s great early mysteries. A supposedly haunted house, a suspiciously helpful prisoner, a smuggling operation, and a mysterious ship called the Sea Ghost.
Oh, and the haunting might be fake, but those skeletons in the basement certainly aren’t! 💀
U1 was more than a dungeon crawl. It rewarded clever investigation, careful exploration, and players willing to THINK before drawing their swords.
I’ve put together a little illustrated walkthrough to celebrate this wonderful piece of early AD&D history. Hope you enjoy it!
Who remembers playing or running U1? And more importantly, did your party trust Ned Shakeshaft? 😏
