A Muslim man from Kyauktaw Township in Arakan State has been arrested by the Department of Law Enforcement and Public Security (DLEPS) under the United League of Arakan (ULA) for allegedly providing medical supplies, food and financial support to the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), according to official sources.
A DLEPS statement released on October 18 identified the man as 40-year-old Hamidu Singh from Lower Paikthel Village in Kyauktaw Township.
DLEPS arrested him on September 30. He is being prosecuted under Sections 50(a), 50(y) and 52(a) of the Counterterrorism Law.
According to the investigation, Hamidu Singh formed a network of overseas Muslim activists while working in Malaysia in 2015 to supply medicine, food and funds to Muslim armed groups based in Bangladesh.
ARSA is allied with the military junta and has carried out surprise attacks on Arakan Army border security outposts and civilian populations in border areas.

Junta reconnaissance aircraft circle over four Arakan Army-held townships
DMG Newsroom
17 October 2026, Kyauktaw
Reconnaissance aircraft and Y-12 aircraft belonging to the military junta were seen circling over Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Anjanapura and Ponnagyun townships, which are controlled by the Arakan Army (AA) in Arakan State, on the morning of October 17, sparking panic among local residents.
The junta aircraft flew continuously overhead from shortly after 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
“Reconnaissance planes have been circling over Anjanapura town and surrounding rural villages since 8:30 a.m.,” an Anjanapura resident said. “Markets were forced to close because of fears of imminent airstrikes.”
A resident of Kyauktaw also expressed grave concern: “Whenever these aircraft circle overhead, it is usually not long before fighter jets arrive to drop bombs. That is why anxiety and fear are running extremely high among the public.”
The military junta continues to carry out daily air raids targeting towns, civilian villages, public markets and IDP camps across Arakan State, keeping local communities on high alert.
