why is taking a break from my chiropractor so hard? why are they treating it like some fraught breakup when the reason is just that i am too poor to keep going?! just let me be free

probably super late to this take but i just resubscribed to netflix again after a few months. the episode also reminds me of city of glass by paul auster!

have returned to twitter after months of being mad at the app because i accidentally made eye contact with the same old lady while licking my lips THREE TIMES in one bus ride and that event simply could not go untweeted

season 9 of below deck stands out as a particularly messy hot mess. a delight to watch

i didn't listen to ambient music again after that, liked multiple other songs from various artists, added songs to playlists, etc...week #2 of "whale's lament" et al
i listened to ambient music once last week while reading before sleep and now my spotify discover weekly is like, 'so, you never want to hear a tune again, do ya?'

i'm all in for everything everywhere all at once this awards season, but i give an honorary best-use-of-emily-dickinson award to tár for dropping 'the soul selects her own society' so casually

going to start a running book thread for 2023 before the year starts sliding away from me 🤓📖

#1: wolf hall by hilary mantel (2009): long, dense, and detailed, but none of these qualities prevent it from being a total (~600-)page-turner of historical fiction. looking forward to reading the others in this series. she brought to life one of the driest figures of that time!

#2: good behaviour by molly keane (1981): i fucking *love* me a comedy (or tragedy) of manners, and this is the best of the genre i have read in ~10 years. highly recommend this to any emma, p&p, and handful of dust lovers. this book deserves wider acclaim!

taking a break from my oscar-best-picture-nominee-and-winner movie-watching extravaganza to watch kaleidoscope, and tbh it kinda slaps

I REPEAT
we should be focusing on preventing the *real* issue that arises with all-gender restrooms, which is people leaving the toilet seat up
