The President has been briefed by the Secretary of Transportation this morning on the FAA system outage. There is no evidence of a cyberattack at this point, but the President directed DOT to conduct a full investigation into the causes. The FAA will provide regular updates.

Update 3: The FAA is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions system following an outage.
The FAA has ordered airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information.

Prelim: At approx. 1:30 am, officers responded to the area. Once on scene,they located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds .A third victim was located in the 8800 block of Walker Mill Rd. All victims were taken to a hospital where one of the victims was pronounced dead.

Prelim: At approx 5 am, officers knocked on the front door and were let inside by a family member. Once inside, officers announced themselves repeatedly prior to encountering the suspect who was armed in the basement. The Internal Affairs & Major Crimes Divisions are on scene.

Two of our officers executing an arrest warrant on a homicide suspect this morning in Capitol Heights discharged their duty weapons when the suspect displayed a weapon inside of his home in the 1600 block of Eastern Ave. No one was injured. The suspect is in custody.
